Steelers receiver Hines Ward has left the Ravens game early in the second quarter after Ray Lewis smacked him in a helmet to helmet hit while Ward tried to make a reception across the middle on third down.

With trainers attending to him afterward, Ward looked wobbly and his eyes appeared glassy as he left the field, and considering Ward suffered a concussion last month, it seems unlikely that he’ll return to the game.

Even though the hit wasn’t penalized, Lewis almost certainly will be fined for his illegal hit.

Ward has been diagnosed with a stinger, and his return to the game is listed as questionable.

Ulfric, quit being such a fricking big baby. Your team got beat twice by the Ravens- get over it.

Congrats on winning the game, still doesn't change the fact that Lewis' hit was helmet to helmet and blown by the refs, whom you ravens have been claiming since your creation have had it in for you every game.  Your team has now scored 7 of your last 9 offensive TDs aided by the refs that hate you.  So, no you get over it, the stripes have been babying your offense even more than the Patsies since the second half of the Arizona game.  The shame is your team has focused so much on beating the Steelers, that you allow the low-life teams to knock you off three times this year, and you still have to face a few more.

I hope Ward doesn't suffer any long-term effects and gets back on the field soon.  That being said, I agree that karma finally caught up to Ward, who has made a career out of taking cheap shots at defenders.

It looked like Ward ducked and thats why the hit was helmet to helmet. Otherwise, Lewis's shoulder would have taken Ward's head off.

You Steeler fans make me laugh..... You have 3 of the biggest cheap shot artist's in the NFL, but cry about Lewis' shot on Ward. Have you ever heard of the term, "Whats good for the goose, is good for the gander"? Take the loss like men and quit your crying. I'd like to say, "see you in January"' but I don't think You will be there.

Funny to hear Pittsburgh fans whine about officiating.
You guys have to be kidding. Seriously.
You do realize that those  terrible towels look an awful-lot like ref flags ...coincidence ?
Hey, go see if a Seattle Seahawk fan agrees with your assesment ...super Bowl XL ring a bell?
That game was as close as the NFL ever got to the WWF.

See you in January ....in Baltimore.

A home loss- and a regular season sweep- is a bitter pill to swallow. Cry  Too bad for the Steelers your excuses won't change the outcome.  See you back in Baltimore- if the Steelers can recover from this heartbreaker.

No Intent to Injure, although it was a helmet to helmet hit in this soft nfl now.
Yeah, right, thats why he lowered his helmet 5 yards ahead of the hit to line him up.  The refs have a lot to answer for their purple glasses tonight, Steelers get nailed for everything, and Ravens get a pass.  Walt Coleman needs to make a tearful apology for the stupidity of his crew tonight.  They may not have caused the loss, but they sure influenced the play of the defenses tonight, one could do no wrong, and the other got called on everything.  Brown also got hit helmet to helmet and no call either, yet a ref 30 yards down the field can see Starks holding on a play, but miss Oher putting Harrison in a choke hold, or Yada chop blocking Big Snack every other play.  The NFL needs to find a way to make the refs accountable and consistant, because all they ever say is they missed it, and nothing every happens to them.  The Jets/Bills game had the same problems today also.
