Johnny Jolly gets 6 years in prison

Packers defensive lineman Johnny Jolly -- currently suspended indefinitely by the NFL -- received a six-year prison sentence for violation of his probation on Thursday.

Jolly was charged with possession of codeine in October (in addition to tampering with evidence) -- the third drug arrest for Jolly in three years. His most recent arrest violated the parole that spared Jolly jail time stemming from a charge in April.

The defensive lineman has been featured in numerous media interviews leading up to his verdict, in which he essentially filed an emotional public plea for another chance.

However Jolly, drafted in the sixth round of the 2006 NFL Draft by the Packers, has apparently run out of chances, at least for now. This is his final season under contract with the Packers and given his recent run of arrests, he may find it difficult to secure an early release from prison.

Jolly started 48 games for the Packers, including all 16 in 2008 and 2009, and recorded 77 tackles, two sacks, one interception and 17 pass deflections. He is eligible for parole after 14 months of his current sentence.

I totally agree....You will NEVER win the war on drugs...If we legalized Marijuana and taxed the crap out of it. California would be completely out of debt. There would no longer be Mexican drug Cartels and the crime rate would be reduced. Just look at the Netherlands!

Of course this will eventually happen...it's just another step towards total societal idiocracy which we are doomed to take.

What a waste of talent.  The dirtbag can't keep his act clean in return for millions of dollars.  He deserves a six year sentence.

One of the funniest thing's about the legal system is he was sentenced to 6 years but can get out after a little over a year...lol..
What's much funnier is that in some states, what Jolly did makes him eligible for more prison time than Jerry Sandusky. Raping kids is bad, mmmkay? But using drugs is apparently much worse.

He got busted fair and square let him do his time I just think he should pay for his own incarceration the same with all these overpaid athelets that somewhere along the line they forgot the law pertains to us all

Hey Jealous DUMB DUMB,

The day you can convince 80,000 people to watch you perform in person, and millions more watch on TV every week, you'll earn just as much money.  You are worth whatever someone is willing to pay you.

, here are the reasons why your post proves your lack of intelligence:

1. You think there is a direct correlation between the hockey team I root for and my intelligence. Sorry you're a bitter Wings fan.
2. Your vitriolic, profanity-laced tirade against a random person who posted something with which you disagree.
3. It's "COULDN'T care less". What you said is the opposite of what you meant.
4. Your anger toward and desire to kill all other human beings who have substance abuse issues.
5. Your mention of God, even though Jesus taught the exact opposite of which you speak. You know, forgiveness, helping your brother, etc.
6. Your mention of politics in a story that has nothing to do with politics.

Hopefully you can find the help that you so desperately need. Good luck!

UK_Razy, come on.  I don't like the democrats just as much as anyone here, but you're the idiot.  I doubt God approves of your hateful behavior.  Maybe I should kill you and let God deal with you like you suggest?
