Scobee and Jackson in Twitter disagreement

You could understand why Eagles fans -- not to mention the team’s coach -- would be upset by DeSean Jackson these past few weeks.

After all, he slept through a Saturday special teams meeting, leading Andy Reid to bench him in Week 10, and then last week, after making a 50-yard reception, he flipped the ball to Giants defensive coordinator Perry Fewell, drawing a personal foul penalty and losing the entire gain.

But you know the moment you’ve really crossed the line? When another team’s kicker comes at you sideways on Twitter.

Scobee tweet

On Sunday, after Jackson’s ball presentation to Fewell, Jaguars kicker Josh Scobee tweeted the following: “Desean Jackson is a punk. #growuputinybastard.” To further clarify his thoughts, Scobee then wrote: “Relax people. He’s just a punk which means to me he doesn’t respect anyone or anything around him. Therefore I don’t respect him.”

On Tuesday, Jackson finally got around to responding, and he didn’t take to Scobee’s opinion all that kindly, writing, “This man @joshscobee is Waaaaaaay outta LIne!! Stick to ya Own business.. Mind ya own!! I don't respect what u sayin.. Lil Boi status.”

Jackson tweet

As the Big Lead points out, the tale of the tape if the two ever got into the boxing ring favors Scobee, who’s 6-foot-1 and 192 pounds compared to Jackson’s 5-10, 175-pound frame.

On Monday, Scobee backtracked by writing, "Shouldn't have called Desean Jackson that, I used the wrong words to try and make my point."

Maybe in order to settle this, Scobee could attempt really long field goals, and if they fall short, Jackson could attempt to run them back for touchdowns. Other than that, this is just a good ol’ Twitter feud that, unlike Osi Umenyiora vs. LeSean McCoy, is likely to end sooner rather than later.

Scobee and Jackson in Twitter disagreement

First off, anyone who thinks that Josh Scobee is out of line, consider these two things. Scobee is a bigger guy than Jackson, and, while Jackson is a very good receiver, Scobee is a world class field goal kicker. Josh can stand up and say, "yeah, I said it. Tell him I said it and see what he wants to do about it". And a third thing, this is the kind of stuff that Twitter is for. If what Scobee said was unacceptable, then the whole Twitter phenomena needs to come down.

Second off, as many of you have already stated, Desean Jackson IS a punk. It's no secret that he's got no respect for anyone else in the game, players, coaches, refs and teammates, and the flip to the Giants DC last week was the tip of the iceberg. So it's about time that someone said "well guess what? we don't respect you either little man". What I genuinely and honestly hope is next for Jackson, and I say this without feeling even a little bit bad: I hope he comes across Ray Lewis or Clay Matthews or someone like that on a slant route and that beast knocks his head off/ends his career. And I further hopes he spends the rest of his life going broke with dementia wondering how many years he might have played if he had shown even a little bit of respect for the game

Scobee and Jackson in Twitter disagreement

Jackson is a punk. I am an eagles fan and I am saying Jackson gets shut down easy. Playoff time he is a non show, plus he drops balls when the team most needs them. Josh on the other hand is plain right. I say eagles should let him walk next year and draft another WR because WR can be replaced very easy. WR think they are the team, and those type of players need to be shown the door. When TO went broke and now is older and is looking for a job, just shows their level of education.

Who cares about either of these dumba$$es?  I guess this is what you do in your spare time when you are on a sucky team that is not a contender.

Josh Scobee, really!?!? A.) Nobody gives a sh*t what a PUNTER thinks or says. B.) His sorry a$$ wouldn't kick to Jackson if his life depended on it. C.) All this sh*t talking on TWITTER is ridiculous. D.) DeShaun, worry about your contract AFTER the season. D.) Both of the teams these guys play for are terrible. E.) I can't believe I took the time to even comment on this. F.) I might go open a Twitter account. G.) Who am I kidding? There's no chance in hell I would do that kind of like either of these chumps teams making the playoffs ... H.) I should have dropped D-Jax from my fantasy team a LONG time ago. I.) Still going to make the playoffs in my FFL's with very little to no help from Jackson and sure as NO help from a stupid freaking punter. J.) I'm done ... Happy Thanksgiving!

explain please how does Jackson whine sure he wants a new cotract but he's not fussing like chris johnson was he's keeping it quiet until after the seasons over and he didn't get all upset about getting benched instead he went out and apologized to his teammates and coaches so it's not like he's immature he just gets over excited on the field and does dumb things every now and then I mean there's a lot of athletes that do that

Scobee and Jackson in Twitter disagreement

Come on scobee is a kicker and he needs to spend more time focusing on making kicks and trying to win more ball games with that lousy JVille suad. But Jackson does need to grow up and mature and be a professional and take his craft more serious and help philly get into the playoffs! No more dumb mistakes and mental errors. Jackson focus on philly and shine like we all know you can and get us in the big dance and win a superbowl and your contract you desire will come!

but he's a KID. He will mature overtime.
DeSean Jackson is not a "kid."  He's 25 years old.  Exactly how much time do you think he needs before he'll 'mature'?  Most of the high school students I teach show more maturity and responsibility than he does.  And they whine less, too.
