Adrian Peterson thinks Saints D was playing dirty

A week after a Tennessee player accused New Orleans' D of playing dirty, Peterson does the same. (US PRESSWIRE)

By Ryan Wilson

After missing three games with a high-ankle sprain, Vikings running back Adrian Peterson returned to the lineup Sunday against the Saints to carry the ball 10 times for 60 yards. But following Minnesota's 42-20 loss, Peterson suggested that New Orleans cornerback Jabari Greer intentionally twisted his ankle one play before he ripped off a game-high 39-yard run.

"I came into the game kind of expecting that coming back from a high ankle sprain," Peterson said, according to the Times-Picayune. "Guys are going to try to take their shots when we're on the pile and try to twist it up and things like that.  "I felt like it kind of got overboard. I got up and kind of got in his face. Thank God I was able to keep my composure."

This comes a week after Tennessee wideout Nate Washington accused New Orleans safety Roman Harper of being a dirty player after he grabbed Damian Williams' facemask.

"Honestly, he's a dirty player," Washington said after their Week 14 meeting. "We watched film on [Harper], he's dirty. And I don't appreciate it, I'm going to step out in public and say it: He's dirty. That was dirty what he did, it's unfortunate that he grabbed the facemask -- at the same time you don't walk over a guy and nudge him with your knee. You don't do that. That's dirty. And honestly, that's a dirty player, flat out. This is not just one game. He's been doing it all season. And I'm tired of it. I hope the league did something about it."

During his Monday press conference, Vikings head coach Leslie Frazier said that Peterson came out of the Saints game "fine," which is more than we can say for the Vikings' season.

The facemask was clearly and accident but that didn't stop punk thug criminal Nate Washington from trying to start yet another fight.
Accident?  That was no accident.  That was a DB who was clearly beat on the cutback and resorted to the last thing he could do to stop the touchdown...an epic facemask.

Adrian Peterson thinks Saints D was playing dirty

Why are Saints fans jerks? Peterson is one the better runningbacks in the game. Only problem is that he's on a bad team. I wish nothing but bad things for that fanbase.
What are you talking about?  It didn't happen as the video evidence clearly shows.  Peterson is just venting his frustration by lying.  Why would you wish bad things on a fan base because your guy is a whiner and a liar?  Weird.

Again everyone, yes twisting ankles in the pile is dirty - no one is denying that.  But as Greer DID NOT give Peterson the business, the conversation shouldn't be about what-ifs, but rather why is Adrian Peterson casting false accusations against one of the league's good guys to maks his own poor play?  That is it, period.  The level of homerism here is insane.  Despite all evidence showing Peterson to be a liar, "fans" out there believe otherwise.  I guess this is how all that Birther nonsense got started.

Really?  For all you people who call NFL players wimps, or crybabies, the grid iron awaits you.  Easy to be sitting on your couch spouting off.  Talk the talk after you are carted off the field trying to tackel AP or anyother NFL player.

One of the better RB's?  As a non-Vikings fan, I would say he's in the top 2 if not the best overall.

Seriously? I live in Minnesota and I don't recall Peterson EVER making excuses about anything. Can you come up with other examples of him whining? Reference an article? Website? I'd like to see proof before I make up my mind. Also, just because you can get away with something, doesn't mean it's ok/tough/cool to do it. Comes down to respect. Sure, play hard, play rough, play tough, but after the whistle, respect your opponent. If the Saints defense, or Greer in particular are so good, then why do they need pull stunts to try and get an opponent out of the game? Beat him when he's at his best, don't pull a cowardly move.
This article:  example

last week: I don't get the ball enough

last year: I don't get any calls

many more examples...

Of course the most important aspect to Peterson's obvious lie is that it didn't happen.  No one has tape (of course if it happened it would be on tape with 20 something cameras), the NFL disagrees, his own teammates aren't backing him up, etc.  They should actually fine crybaby Peterson for being such a big fat liar, in addition to being a crybaby.

Dude, come back to earth.  Reality ain't so bad, give it a try!

There whole team is dirty.... offense and defense....bunch of punk beaches.
I know right, why are the Lions so dirty?  They make James Harrison look like an upstanding NFL citizen in comparison.

You've got to do what you've got to do when your defense sucks.
You realize that this isn't an article about the Longhorns right lol?  That was sweet how the Saints came back scoring at will against the Texans defense.  Remember that?
