Rex Ryan and B. Jacobs had a confrontation after the game today (US Presswire).

By Josh Katzowitz

As we all know, Rex Ryan loves to talk trash. Sometimes, it works for the Jets. Sometimes, it doesn’t. Today, during his squad’s 29-14 loss to the Giants, it didn’t work at all. And Giants running back Brandon Jacobs was happy to tell Ryan exactly what he thought about him afterward.

B. Jacobs and Rex Ryan yelling at each other (US Presswire). After the game was complete, Ryan and Jacobs had a verbal altercation in which cursing from both sides was exchanged and an insulting “fat boy” was thrown around by Jacobs.

According to Jacobs, via Newsday, he did nothing to provoke Ryan, but Jacobs certainly felt the need to defend himself once the two met during postgame handshakes.

"I didn't say too much to him," Jacobs said. "He told me to shut the f--- up and wait until we win the Super Bowl, and I said I would punch him in his face . . . I told him, 'Out of all of these Giants football players on the team, you're talking to the wrong one.'"

Then, apparently, Ryan told Jacobs to go “f--- himself.” Later Jacobs said that Ryan had a “big, fat mouth.”

Aside from the acrimony about the Jets’ trash-talking (though Giants receiver Victor Cruz did some of his own this week), was the report that the Jets, who were the home team, placed black curtains over the Super Bowl championship logos that were painted on the walls of the New Meadowlands. Those curtains are there for all Jets home games, but the Giants thought that the move was disrespectful. Ryan was asked afterward about his confrontation with Jacobs.

"We had a private conversation," he said. "That's all I'll leave it as. Whatever. He doesn't like me. I respect him, but I could care less about him."

Mr. Jacobs, we’ll give you the last word.

"You need to shut up," Jacobs said. "That's that. He's a great coach, comes from a great coaching family, but he needs to shut up."

Brandon Jacobs, Rex Ryan exchange insults

Hey REX we know you can run your mouth, what we also know is you CAN'T run a team... To bad you spend so much time tearing down your fathers good name.

His father's good name ?????

I hate to rag on Buddy because it's Christmas and he is battling cancer. But Rex and Rob are just the apples that didn't fall far from the tree. Buddy Ryan was the king of trash talking and most of it he couldn't ever back up ! Rex is twice as bad as his dad and his act is now beginning to wear thin with some Jets' fans, as it has with the rest of us who knew he was a blowhard from day one. i've never been a fan of Brandon jacobs. But he is spot on and he told Rex what has needed to be said to him for a long time.

Brandon Jacobs, Rex Ryan exchange insults

Choosing sides in a Ryan versus Jacobs dispute is like picking between the two Presidential Candidates every four years. Neither is ever a good choice, but Jacobs is the lesser of two evils. Ryan would win the Super Bowl every season if the game was not played on the field, but this is nothing new for the Jets. Since Joe Namath, and continuing to Mark Gastineau (the only player in NFL history to get into a fight on the field and have his teammates race to defend the other guy), Keyshawn "I AM THE MAN" Johnson and many others, the Jets have won the "Talking Super Bowl". 1969 is a long long time ago, and the Giants have three rings since, with Jacobs being a key component in one of them. Oh yeah; the 2007 Giants SB victory, by far, trumps the Jets win in III, as far as upsets. Other teams in the old AFL (1967 Raiders, even some of the early San Diego Chargers teams) were good enough to compete in the NFL, but the Jets got lucky by getting to play a probably overconfident Colts team with a journeyman QB (Earl Morrall) who was then replaced (not soon enough) by an injured and pretty much washed up Johnny Unitas. In addition, Namath is no fan of Ryan either, and at least backed up his guarantee with that Super Bowl victory, and he has been able to live off of that his entire life.

I am a shill for Sarcasm.  I am a hardcore frontrunner. Vicarious?  You win I am your lifelong fan.  You lose, I jump off your bandwagon.  If mankind continues to live vicariously through someone else's life, I will fly the flag for hollow  shallowness.  In the words of Ebby  "Nuke" Laloosh," I love winning!  Losing sucks."  Sarcasm??  Shallow??
