Is Brian Dawkins' career in jeopardy?

B. Dawkins is having neck troubles that could derail his career (US Presswire).

By Josh Katzowitz

As Tim Tebow-infatuated as everybody in the NFL seems to be (in good times and bad), sometimes we have to point out how much the Broncos improving defense has contributed to keeping him in games in order to win them late.

On Saturday, vs. a Bills team that’s taken a huge nosedive in the second half of the season, the Broncos proved that if the defense isn’t good, Tebow has no shot at winning. And one reason for the Denver defensive no-show was because Brian Dawkins had to leave the game with more neck troubles.

As the Denver Post points out, there are concerns that his neck issues ultimately will end his 16-year career.

“I don’t want to talk about the neck,” Dawkins said after the Bills 40-14 rampage was complete.

But how can we NOT talk about the neck, especially if it’s going to derail a top-notch career and put the Broncos playoff potential in a perilous place? Dawkins didn’t play last week, and the Patriots dominated. Dawkins didn’t play much Saturday, and Buffalo dominated. The trend might not be coincidental, especially because Dawkins is still effective against the run.

Dawkins said he didn’t know if he could play next week in the regular season finale against the Chiefs for the right to go to the postseason. But there is this: without Dawkins, the Raiders chances to win almost certainly decrease.

dawk is a class act. he played way to long and is now facing the bad news. you are a hall of famer dawk. god bless you and other players who had the courage to play like you.
lol. Class act? Look; I hate seeing players get hurt, especially when it puts their career on the line, but calling Brian Dawkins a class act is like calling Shaq a good free-throw shooter. Dawkins has always been one of the dirtiest players in the NFL and is anything BUT classy.

Is Brian Dawkins' career in jeopardy?

10 sentences, seven major grammatical errors; 3 structural 'no-no's'. The jewel of the piece is the last sentence:
"But there is this: without Dawkins, the  chances to win almost certainly decrease. "

Is Brian Dawkins' career in jeopardy?

This is kind of funny.  With all the posts on the errors of the last sentence, this website hasn't gone in and made the correction.  Other news websites do this all the time.  The New York Times makes corrections whenever they publish these kind of errors and make the small annotations at the bottom of the page, acknowledging their error.  No one is perfect, of course.  In the type of work I do, technical publishing, errors are sometimes made and the easiest thing in the world to do is to make corrections on web-based reporting.  It sure beats hardcopy reissues.  This website has a history of once and done however.  And all it does is continue to make the author look like they were sleep-typing.

What's wrong with this sentence "But there is this: without Dawkins, the chances to win almost certainly decrease. " Maybe you should proofread before you post your article
It's amazing how these guys are able to keep jobs when they have the writing ability of a 7th grader.  Thank you for noticing this and no, I do not believe the Raiders chances are in jeopardy of decreasing with Dawkins not on the field.

Doesn't dawkins play for the broncos? How would dawkins not playing for the broncos make "the raiders chances to win certainly decrease"?  The Raiders will somehow be depressed and uninspired to play against the chargers if dawkins doesn't play for the broncos against the chiefs? lmao! Great article there Josh. If anything it would make the raiders happy to see dawkins not playing for the broncos against the chiefs

Is Brian Dawkins' career in jeopardy?

As a life-long Broncos fan I was thrilled to see B-Dawk come to Denver. Best wishes to him in whichever decision he makes, he's an all around class act and competitor. On a side note: no real Broncos/football fan would ever attempt to negate what he, and others, brought to Denver's season. Big fan of Tebow, but an even bigger fan of the Broncs!
