Robert Griffin III, the second-rated quarterback on Rob Rang's big board, recently said he would make a decision about entering the NFL Draft "pretty soon." Many believed that was code for "already gone," and a report Sunday indicates that RG3 to the NFL is a done deal.

That's according to Chris Mortensen of ESPN, who reports that Griffin's already made up his mind to take the leap to the pros and that's it's simply a matter of semantics before he's being moved around on 2012 NFL Mock Draft boards sans the little underclassman asterisk.
Mort apparently spoke to Griffin's father, Robert Junior, who told him that RG3's decision would be known "when Robert makes this official and selects the right agent to represent him."
So either RGJR (not as catchy, I know) was saying that his son is going pro or, more likely, he slipped up and was trying to say that RG3's going to make a decision and framed the part about the agent incorrectly.
Whatever, this just makes sense. RG3 won the Heisman, he's a coveted prospect, a hot name and easily the No. 2 quarterback on everyone's draft board. And, apparently, he's also highly coveted by the Colts.
Indy, it's been assumed, will just take Andrew Luck. But they could still beat the Jaguars and end up with the No. 2 pick in the draft. If that's the case, Mort reports the Colts are ready to make RG3 their quarterback of the future if they end up falling out of the top pick.
That's a nightmare scenario for the Browns, Dolphins, Redskins, and any other team who's quarterback needy, since the Rams will get to fire up a full-on bidding war for the top pick in the draft.
