RG3 says he'll decide on the draft "pretty soon." (AP)
By Will Brinson

Robert Griffin III, the second-rated quarterback on Rob Rang's big board, recently said he would make a decision about entering the NFL Draft "pretty soon." Many believed that was code for "already gone," and a report Sunday indicates that RG3 to the NFL is a done deal.

2012 NFL Draft

That's according to Chris Mortensen of ESPN, who reports that Griffin's already made up his mind to take the leap to the pros and that's it's simply a matter of semantics before he's being moved around on 2012 NFL Mock Draft boards sans the little underclassman asterisk.

Mort apparently spoke to Griffin's father, Robert Junior, who told him that RG3's decision would be known "when Robert makes this official and selects the right agent to represent him."

So either RGJR (not as catchy, I know) was saying that his son is going pro or, more likely, he slipped up and was trying to say that RG3's going to make a decision and framed the part about the agent incorrectly.

Whatever, this just makes sense. RG3 won the Heisman, he's a coveted prospect, a hot name and easily the No. 2 quarterback on everyone's draft board. And, apparently, he's also highly coveted by the Colts.

Indy, it's been assumed, will just take Andrew Luck. But they could still beat the Jaguars and end up with the No. 2 pick in the draft. If that's the case, Mort reports the Colts are ready to make RG3 their quarterback of the future if they end up falling out of the top pick.

That's a nightmare scenario for the Browns, Dolphins, Redskins, and any other team who's quarterback needy, since the Rams will get to fire up a full-on bidding war for the top pick in the draft.

Mark my words.  RG3 will not be able to handle NFL caliber hits.  If you watch the games where the Bears struggled this year, it was when they got in his face and hit him a time or two.  He'll be yet another Heisman disappointment.

Tonight will not be any indication of Luck's talent.  Oklahoma State has an explosive offense, but a horrible defense.  Luck should look great, but whether Stanford wins or not will depend on thier defense (and turnovers).

This is a good move for the heisman winner. Being that I dont know him nor have I met him in listening to him speak he seems like a very intelligent young man who knows who he is and understands the game. Trying to compare him to Luck is not a good scenario for anybody they will both go in the draft because they both have the phyisical skills to play the position at the next level what has yet to be seen is do they have it upstairs in the mental department to make the transition to the next level. I say this with several past players like Russel, Leaf, Pete. All of which posessed the phyisical talent to play just fell short in the mental game. I for one would take either in Miami with one rule is the RGIII understand he may not be big enough to take hits at the next level he took in college. I gues what I am trying to say is pass first  run second.
And to go off topic a little allow me to acknowledge the fact that I had said the SEC would only win one bowl game and obviously I was wrong. Still dont like the championship game and I still wont watch any of the BCS games but I will admit I was wrong about the number of games the SEC will win in bowl season this year.

The only thing I see that's better about Luck than RG3 is Luck seems to be built to take it. RG3 could be a constant Vick-like injury concern. If he can avoid big hits and accumulated punishment he will be great.

Ftballgenius, Andrew Luck's stock is dropping?  Really?  Are the stock experts the same experts who said Cam Newton wasn't any good?  All I recall of Cam Newton's season at Auburn, he won and he was very accurate throwing the ball, he put up bigger numbers in his head to head match up with Arkansas than Ryan Mallet in a close game that turned into a blow out.

Now I look at Andrew Luck and all he does is win.  He's accurate, athletic, and can make the tough passes.  If Andrew Luck's stock is dropping and I have the second pick or anything lower than that if Luck is on the board I am picking him.

Every team should be interested in RG3's talent. He will make a fantastic QB for the team willing to scheme around his talents.

I certainly hope the team that does select RG3 is set up to have the patience to teach him to play the position at the NFL level, that won't be the Colts who are dead set on Andrew Luck.  While RG3 is a tremendous athlete, much of his success this season has been on the run and moving around, he'll need to prove he can stay in the pocket read the defense and make all the NFL throws.  Don't get me wrong this guy is a tremendous talent he will just need to recognize the differnces between the college and pro game and adjust his game accordingly.
