The 2011 season isn't yet over but with the regular season now in the books, the 2012 NFL opponents are now set (the official schedule will be released in the spring).

Every year, teams play six games in their division (facing each of the other three teams twice), eight games against eight teams from two other divisions, and two games determined on division record.

With the final regular-season standings settled, we now know who'll face whom.

For example, by virtue of winning the AFC West, the Broncos have the pleasure of facing the Patriots and Texans in 2012. And the Chiefs, last-place finishers in the West, get the Bills and Colts.

And the NFC South champion Saints get the 49ers and the Packers (again in Lambeau).

Opponents set for 2012 NFL season

The Giants do have a fairly tough schedule but the three toughest games they play are all at home: GB, Pittsburgh and NO.  I can't see them losing more than 3 games next year.  The NFC East is way overrated - Philly is schizophrenic, Dallas is soft and Washington is undermanned.  They'll sweep the NFC Least...

The thing is, now the Patriots have the easiest time to make a run for the playoffs again, while the Giants like always will have to fight for it,but of course this will make Brady look like the god he isnt when he makes the play offs, wish we could trade their schedule for ours.

And then you Patriot fans wonder why the Pats cant beat the Giants in the superbowl, they have no compititon when they are locked for the bye week.

Well expect the NFC to dominate the superbowl for a long time.

You dont know much about NFL schedule making do you?  Every team rotates which out of conference division they play and intra-conference division, then cap it off with the two teams in the remaining two division in conference who finished in the same spot in their division.  To say it is biased is ignorant.  Sure some divisions stink and some are strong, but that is just luck of the draw which divisions you are slotted to play that year. The Giants are baffling, barely make the playoffs and manage to win the Superbowl.  It will be interesting to see if they can even make the playoffs next year.

What??? The Eagles play 16 HOME games?? Did that ex-con scumbag QB get caught doing illegal activities AGAIN, and not allowed to leave the state of Pennsylvania? And to be fair to that loser, they`ll play at home all season.

NFL sure is trying to make sure Giants don't repeat. I thought last year's schedule was bad. Meanwhile, Patsies get another relatively easy shot at home field throughout playoffs and a return to SB. Talk about fairness.

MNM8674: Wasn't disputing that . . just seemed consistent to look at pre-season SOS's . . since saying NE's '12 schedule (the subject of this thread) is 'easy' is based on past performance of their opponents . .how the season actually plays out is a different issue . . the fact that winning teams from the previous year turn into .500 or worse teams the next is just happenstance.
