Casserly: Rams 'going to stick with Sam Bradford'

This isn't particularly shocking news (to some, anyway), but the Rams won't be shopping for a quarterback in the 2012 NFL Draft and will stick with Sam Bradford as their franchise quarterback.

CBS Sports Charley Casserly reported as much on Sunday on The NFL Today, noting that the Rams are "going to stick with" Bradford (versus drafting, say, Robert Griffin III) and utilize their second pick in April's draft to improve in other areas.

"They're going to stick with Sam Bradford," Casserly told James Brown Sunday. "If Griffin comes out that second pick has value. If he doesn't come out, it doesn't. I would ask for two No. 1 picks and another pick depending on where that team is [sitting]. Unless I can get a second No. 1 I'm taking [Justin] Blackmon and now I've got a target for Bradford."

St. Louis has a pretty good shot at getting the second first-rounder for that No. 2 pick, especially with the Redskins potentially needing to jump the Browns to grab RG3 if they want him.

The problem then becomes whether or not the Browns are interested in Blackmon; the Rams certainly want to accumulate as many picks as possible, and getting maximum trade value for the No. 2 pick is paramount for them this season.

But they're going to lose Brandon Lloyd this offseason, and you have to wonder how long they can go without investing heavily in a top-end wideout to pair with their franchise quarterback.

How about some stability in the coaching ranks?  Bradford has had to know a different system each of the past three years he has played.....and now with McDaniels going back to New England....it will be 4 systems in 4 years.  McDaniels' system is not an easy one to learn then you throw in practically zero training camp to learn it?  Then a banged up (not that they were good when healthy but banged up nonetheless) secondary.....a sieve of an O-Line, a receiver corps that would have trouble starting at a JuCo (outside Lloyd who is most likely gone).....yeah the 2-14 season is all Bradford's fault.  People need to wake up and look at the whole picture critically instead of just seeing one thing and jumping on it.  After his rookie season, everyone was praising Bradford as being the next great QB for the Rams.  So in that one offseason.....he forgot how to play?  How stupid can you people be?  Sorry to be somewhat harsh but dang.....

might as well stick with bradford, since they are paying him all that money. it is not like he did not have a history of getting hurt. not having that big offensive line of oklahoma, and very good running backs does not hurt either. besides who will be better. somebody alreadyhas all the good ones.

The Browns have more pressing needs than to use that high of a 1st on Blackmon. The Rams would be wise to trade the pick no matter what and if they don't get Blackmon there's some dynamite WR to be taken later. Corner would'nt kill the Rams either.

How about invest some lineman that can block.  If not draft RGIII because at least he can try to run for his life.  Bradford only has time to get into the fetal position and pray.

Rams will be fine. It will just be a few more years of mediocrity. They will hire Fisher, pick kalil #2, and sign another playmaker wideout. I see 7-9 or 8-8 next year.
