Sounds like Fisher is leaning toward Miami

FisherBy Josh Katzowitz

By the end of Thursday, this post could be obsolete. Hell, it might be outdated by the end of breakfast.

Or Jeff Fisher could continue making us wait as he tries to figure out his next move and whether he wants to be the coach of the Rams or the Dolphins. While at least one person on Twitter speculated that Fisher was stalling so he could determine what new Colts general manager Ryan Grigson and owner Jim Irsay will do with coach Jim Caldwell, is speculating that Fisher’s most likely option involves him taking his talents to South Beach.

Fisher interviewed with the Rams and Dolphins last week, and apparently since then, he’s been torn on which job to take.

Some believe the Dolphins can offer more money, but others think that the Rams already have a franchise quarterback in Sam Bradford that could make Fisher’s transition easier. Some theorize that Fisher isn’t all that fond of Bradford, while others wonder how enthralled he’d be with the Dolphins organizational structure. He might not like the possibility of St. Louis moving to Los Angeles, and, I don’t know, maybe he’s worried about how much of his money will go to buying sunscreen in south Florida.

But Jason La Canfora’s sources tell him that, “one of the issues holding up a deal between Fisher and the Rams is compensation … Fisher is seeking to be among the higher-paid coaches in the league, in the range of $7 million per season … Rams owner Stan Kroenke has not displayed a willingness to reach that stratosphere to this point.”

Either way, it seems like Fisher’s decision could come soon. Maybe even before you’re done reading this post.

Aside from Andy Reid, the most overrated coach out there. Titans are better off without him. The Dolphins should have just kept Sparano.

The term franchise QB has been overused in recent years. If NFL teams really are intent on acquiring a "franchise qb" then why would they continue to draft QBs simply because they had one great season in college, played at a college that faced lesser competition or had a "sexy" name. The truth is drafting a franchise QB does not determine the success of an NFL team. Good coaching will always trump talent. Obviously, if a QB is an idiot all the good coaching in the world cannot help him (JaMarcus Russell) and having a talented QB does help him succeed when playing on a bad team with no good coaching (Tim Tebow). Tom Brady was drafted in the 6th round!!! If he was seen as a franchise qb then he would not have lasted that long! The truth is there are no such things as a franchise qb. Franchise qbs are a result of good coaching in college and in the the pros. Look at the USC QBs-they had somewhat good coaching with Pete "I avoid drafting any of my former players because I know they will stink in the NFL" Carroll at the collegiate level. But once they were drafted they ended up on very terrible teams with terrible coaching. I don't know much about Mark Sanchez, but I have to think that Rex Ryan does not know what he is doing in regards to Sanchez. Alex Smith has struggled for the majority of his NFL career...except for that one season with Norv Turner. However, since Jim Harbaugh became the 49ers head coach Smith has played really well.

Sam Bradford is no more a franchise qb than you or I.

JC!! How much money do you need!? Here's an idea Fisher, go to where you think you and your family will be happiest! They will all pay you more than enough money. What do you want 4 Ferrari's instead of 3? Man, oh man, we have lost our way... 100 years ago it was about providing for your family and community, now it is about caring about yourself and shanking your community. Holy cow Fisher you deserve 7 million a year! 6 million is a slap in the face, don't stand for it!

Sounds like you have no idea what's going to happen -  no offense, but this story is nothing but a bunch of hunches, one of which might be right.

As a Dolphins fan, I don't know if I'd want Fisher. I mean, the guy was at Tennessee for 17 seasons and had a winning record 6 times? That's not even half of the time...he'd keep his job because every couple of years they would put together a good season, and only once did they get to the Super Bowl. What has Belicheck done in 17 years with the Patriots? Look for someone who can produce winning teams more than 35% of the time...I'd rather have an unproven promising coach, than a proven losing one.
