Sounds like Fisher is leaning toward Miami

FisherBy Josh Katzowitz

By the end of Thursday, this post could be obsolete. Hell, it might be outdated by the end of breakfast.

Or Jeff Fisher could continue making us wait as he tries to figure out his next move and whether he wants to be the coach of the Rams or the Dolphins. While at least one person on Twitter speculated that Fisher was stalling so he could determine what new Colts general manager Ryan Grigson and owner Jim Irsay will do with coach Jim Caldwell, NFL.com is speculating that Fisher’s most likely option involves him taking his talents to South Beach.

Fisher interviewed with the Rams and Dolphins last week, and apparently since then, he’s been torn on which job to take.

Some believe the Dolphins can offer more money, but others think that the Rams already have a franchise quarterback in Sam Bradford that could make Fisher’s transition easier. Some theorize that Fisher isn’t all that fond of Bradford, while others wonder how enthralled he’d be with the Dolphins organizational structure. He might not like the possibility of St. Louis moving to Los Angeles, and, I don’t know, maybe he’s worried about how much of his money will go to buying sunscreen in south Florida.

But Jason La Canfora’s sources tell him that, “one of the issues holding up a deal between Fisher and the Rams is compensation … Fisher is seeking to be among the higher-paid coaches in the league, in the range of $7 million per season … Rams owner Stan Kroenke has not displayed a willingness to reach that stratosphere to this point.”

Either way, it seems like Fisher’s decision could come soon. Maybe even before you’re done reading this post.

Of course he is leaning towards Miami. If most people had a choice, Miami or St Louis, come on now!

Are you kidding me?? This is another example of value by media saturation. Fisher could build back any team to a solid competitor, but there is no way can he measure up to the big game winning coaches. He had personnel autonomy the last four years of his reign in Nashville and drove a solid competitor into the dirt. He struts around like a supreme authority demanding respect that he hardly deserves. A team player, he is not.

As far as possible coaching prospects still available, he is a safe solid candidate. Couple him with a strong GM that can control his Napoleanic tendancies and you have a good recipe to build a franchise back to respectability. Don't kid yourselves, the Titans last 4 years of drafts and free-agent moves have yielded Chris Johnson and not much of anything else. The Titans best personnel moves cam with Peterson at the helm and Bud Adams let Fisher power play him out of a top notch GM.

If I was an owner that needed a coach, I would certainly consider Fisher...but for elite coach pay?!? NO WAY!! He hasn't earned the right to be considered a HOF coach, and heaven help the team that inflates his ego by paying him that kind of money. He will never surround himself with a good staff or support a GM if he gets treated like an immortal, thus sealing the fate of the team that makes that mistake.

I have strange feeling Fisher is heading to the Rams, and Ross calls up fellow
Michigan Alum Les Miles and offers him a boat load of cash to leave the comforts
of LSU for South Beach.
Ross and Miles have probaly already spoke about the head coaching position,
and were just waiting until after the BCS title game to continue negotiations.

As a Rams fan, I initially wanted Fisher.  But it appears the Rams want him more than he wants the Rams.  Therefore, I won't be torn if he decides to go elsewhere.

What the Rams need is quality players from drafting.  From 2000-2011 the Rams drafted 104 players.  Out of those 104 players, there was 1 that made the pro bowl, Steven Jackson who made it 3 times.  Incredible!

And in the last 5 drafts, the Packers have drafted 45 players that have played a combined 1275 regular season games.  The Rams have drafted 41 players that have played a combined 722 regular season games.

Not only can we not draft pro bowl players, but we have a tough time finding players that can earn a game day jersey.  Phenominal!!
