Jeff Fisher picked the Rams over the Dolphins, CBSSports.com's Mike Freeman has confirmed.

Latest Coaching Rumors, News

Fisher stated last week that he was down to two choices: Miami and St. Louis. One (Miami) featured an owner willing to pay big, big bucks. The other (St. Louis) featured a young, star quarterback in Sam Bradford, potentially more front office control and the No. 2 pick in the 2012 NFL Draft.

Fisher chose the latter and he'll be roaming the sidelines for the Rams in 2012.

"I'm pumped," fullback Britt Miller told The Associated Press. "I figured that because he wanted a little more control that Miami was probably not the place for him. I'm really pumped."

Fisher's been the hottest coaching name this offseason, getting mentioned in rumors involving the Rams, Dolphins, Colts, Buccaneers and even the not-even-vacant position in Chicago, which was supposedly Fisher's dream job.

It's believed that Fisher could bring current Saints defensive coordinator Gregg Williams, who worked with Fisher in Tennessee, to join him in St. Louis.

Momentum reportedly swung back to the Dolphins earlier in the week, but here's an interesting tidbit from Yahoo Sports Mike Silver: Fisher was willing to meet Dolphins owner Stephen Ross "halfway" on personnel matters, letting general manager Jeff Ireland still retain plenty of power. However, Ross/Ireland reportedly weren't willing to budge and it may have ultimately cost them a chance to land Fisher.

Reports also indicate that Fisher will choose his own general manager in St. Louis, so the amount of leverage he pulled out of these two teams really can't be overstated.

Jeff Fisher picks Rams over Dolphins

"Too bad Marshall's coming to the Bears"

How could you ever wish something like that on your team?  Marshall is not the kind of guy you want in your locker room.  I haven't heard anything about the Dolphins getting rid of Marshall, but if they did I wouldn't be surprised.  All he does is get in trouble with the law, and drop balls.  He has been in the top 3 in dropped passes the last 2 years.  He especially can't hold onto the ball in the endzone.  He is a distraction in the locker room, and gets arrested about once a year.  He was recently diagnosed with borderline personality disorder after the last time he beat up his fiance.  You better pray that the Bears management wouldn't bring his circus act to your franchise.  The Bears would be better off signing Terrell Owens.

Jeff Fisher picks Rams over Dolphins

Just to people who think/say the Rams will move back to LA. Jeff Fisher now has a 5-year deal (from what I've heard, according to ESPN 101). A few Sunday's ago I recall Fisher went to visit Rams park, think it was last Sunday or the Sunday before. But, anyways one of the things Fisher was worried about was the team moving back to LA (keep in mind he owns a ranch in Montana, and still has his family in Nashville .... both are nowhere near LA and St. Louis is closer to both). Also, when Fisher was a young head coach the Houston Oilers moved, first to Memphis, and then in Nashville (that's when their stadium was done, they played in Memphis while the stadium was being built in Nashville). Fisher also said that he doesn't want to go through another move, I don't blame him for not wanting to go through another move, those can be hard on coaches. Another thing, Stan is from Missouri and played a big role in bringing the NFL back to St. Louis, Stan has even said that he wouldn't have bought the Rams if he didn't plan to move them, which I think is true for two reasons and now 3 .... 1. Kevin Demoff has said that the Rams want to build a winning team in St. Louis, 2. Jeff Fisher is now the head coach (first head coach who can win games, since Mike Martz), and 3. Stan's mom attends all of the Rams home games (that would be hard for her to do, if the Rams move to move St. Louis, since she won't leave Missouri .... she's old and has lived in Missouri for I think all of her life). Also, just another thing to keep in mind Kevin Demoff's dad is Fisher's agent. At least it gives the Rams fans hope now. I also recall when Stan took over as owner of the Rams, the NFL said they want the NFL in St. Louis. So, who knows if their telling the truth. We'll find out soon, I guess.
