Manning overcomes stomach bug, back with NYG

By Josh Katzowitz

Eli Manning was sent home from Giants practice Wednesday with what was termed a stomach bug, and for those who worried that the illness had the potential to keep him out of action through Sunday’s NFC title game, the Giants have assuaged your fears.

On Thursday morning, the Giants tweeted the following: "Eli is in the building today and will return to @Giants practice! #ALLIN"

Which is what coach Tom Coughlin predicted Wednesday when he said, “"Hopefully it's a 24-hour deal and he'll be better tomorrow.”

Turns out Manning is, and with Patriots quarterback Tom Brady returning to practice in New England, it seems that all four starting quarterbacks remaining will be available to lead their teams this weekend.

Manning overcomes stomach bug, back with NYG

Just dropped by to drop a little truth on Eastern bias and the coverage we are stuck with,. A west coast paper has been keeping track the the bias spew issued by CBS, Fox & ESPN on the internet . Look at it yourself! Honestly look how much press NY is getting, followed by the Ravens and Patriots. There is a 4th team, the one tied for the best record this year of the 4 remaining teams. Unbiased coverage? Did you realize that 36.9% of ESPN's baseball coverage over the last two years involved 2 teams (Boston/Yankees)? The SF Giants less than 1%, even with their World Title over a year ago. Last week it was all Saints! "Unbeatable", stated CBS Oops....... Sad, but next week all we will hear is how the Patriots or Ravens will whip the 49ers in the SB. Then the Niners will then win their 6th SB, enhancing their 'best ever' record in the history of the SB, and ESPN will go immediately into Yankee coverage. Gotta go...they are current airing a piece on the Jets. Geeee, I thought they were done? Not true?  Okay, right now go to the "front page" of these sports networks and see for yourself.

Not to mention we also sport a great  defensive line. J. Pierre Paul, Umenyiora, Tuck, and Kiwanku are a tough matchup for any offensive line.

Giants lost to Green Bay this year also. Congrats on your teams kickers making the Pro Bowl....I'm sure the Giants are extremely scared of them.

Dont forget special teams. We are sending both our punter and field goal kicket to the Pro Bowl. Unfortunately, they will not be able to make it but you get the idea. Our special teams have been HUGE for us all year and they set the tone for the entire game. Eli is NOT what you people think he is. The Packers had the worst defense in the league and the Falcons were not a whole lot better. This week your golden boy will face a real defense. Just remember what happened already this year, YOU LOST!!!!! Smith is far better now than he was then and Gore will be healthy. Next stop Super Bowl 46 and ring number 6 :--)

I see lots of 49ers fans are all hyped up just like us Giant fans...it will be a hard & physical game for both teams. Defense is solid at both ends but 49ers proved to be better at defense all year long, with that being said playoffs are a different season and one that requires a magical run. We have someone magical in Eli and you guys have Smith and I'll take Eli over Smith anytime!!! Smith didn't show me anything all season other than he knows how to manage a game without having enough big plays down the field, defense is what got the 49ers here not Smith. Smith had magic moments against the Saints but who the hell said the Saints defense were good to begin with??? You guys played with more heart than the Saints and on Sunday we will find out who's heart is bigger!!! Don't forget, WE HAVE ELI MANNING who do you guys have??? What I mean is that do you really feel that Smith would have enough time in the pocket to make solid throws against our pass rush??? I'll answer that for you, NO!!! Romo barely had it along with Ryan & Rodgers and all are on another level beyond Smith. Keys to the game your defense against Eli, who will win??? Our defense against Smith, who will win??? Oh and yea Pierre Thomas almost got killed on that fumble and that set the tone for you guys...try hitting Jacobs like that and we'll see who ends up on the ground!!!

I totally agree, this game is far too close to call but I do believe the home field is VERY important in this game. The Niners play far better at home with more energy and appear to get stronger as the game goes on. I have saw every play of every game and to say I am not confident would be a lie. I honestly believe this is a team of Destiny. And great call on Cowboy fan, they are the worst!!! GO NINERS

I would totally agree your defense has an edge over ours especially LB, but I would say we have an edge on offense though maybe not at RB. Home field will obviously help quite a bit too but I really think this game may come down to turnovers. Teams that turn ball over lose games simple enough. Either way I certainly dont see a clear cut victory on either side but who knows perhaps your right. I'm more of a Karma guy and like to keep the smack to a minimum until after the final gun sounds. except for Cowboy Fans, horrible creatures.

I see than another person called me a tool. As funny as you think you are. Regardless of what your impressions are. Nothing you can say, nothing you can do can change the result.

And when we played the Saints, it hadn't rained in San Francisco in MONTHS. It was sunny and dry. Peter King of Sports Illustrated said "The field was in ideal playing conditions. They Saints can't lean on that."  I hate that lame ass excuse people give about the Saints on the road. The fact is, our defense was more physical than they could handle... and they were unprepared for what our offense did. No one, including many 49er fans, didn't think Alex Smith had it in him. That's why we beat the Saints. Darren Sproles said something similar as well. But, the Saints game has very little to do with why I think we can win. It's similar to the AFC with the fact that just because Brady put up a bunch of TDs vs. the Broncos, who kept giving the Pats the ball back, the Ravens won't allow the same thing...It's nearly irrelevant.

I'm taking NOTHING away from the Giants. I believe they're playing really well... But, I believe that many people feel it will be automatic and it won't be either way. It'll come down to field position and turnovers. Same goes for us. If we turn the ball over, if we can't control the clock, if we can't get first downs, you will win. But, we don't really turn the ball over and we're not intimidated. And in all honesty, I love Victor Cruz. But Victor Cruz vs. a Dallas Defense in disarray and our defense is two different things.

Giant Wolverine.

You're speaking from your heart and not your head. As far as soiling my diaper, I was in attendance at those games.

It was a while ago, but when we win our 6th, whether it be now or later, it's still more than you have.

And call me whatever names you like, the result won't change. Wanting a team to win won't make it so. And in 3 1/2 days, you and that closet case Chris Maddog Russo will be eating crow.

I just looked him up and Jesus Christ, he looks like anything but a mad dog....
