Although Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski appeared to suffer a bad ankle injury in the third quarter of Sunday’s AFC title win and although he was wearing a walking boot in the locker room after the game, a source tells the Boston Herald that Gronkowski will be ready to play in Super Bowl XLVI.

Championship Weekend Recap

“He’ll be ready to go,” the source told the Herald.

Gronkowski has become one of Tom Brady’s favorite receiving targets -- not to mention one of the two-best tight ends in the league -- and in New England’s win over the Ravens, he had five catches for 87 yards. Although he returned to the game after his injury, suffered when he was tackled awkwardly by Ravens safety Bernard Pollard, he didn’t catch any other passes.

But with two weeks to heal before the NFL’s final game of the season, Gronkowski has some time to get his ankle well. Which obviously would be great news for Brady and the Patriots

Report: Gronk's ankle will be OK for Super Bowl

Pollard is playing the game of football, last time I checked football is a violent sport.  I saw nothing malicious when wrapping up Gronkowski, as injuries happen.  As far as Gronkowski playing in the Super Bowl, the man is tough I'll give him that.  But how effective was he when he came back as I didn't even hear of him when he got escorted to the locker room.  Plus when you still have the adrenaline going, you can play with alot of injuries, it's that next day when you're hating life.  That looked like a severe sprain and based on the position he plays, would it really be good for New England to have him play?

Report: Gronk's ankle will be OK for Super Bowl

Blkngold, what's your problem?  All you do is taunt and antagonize and your dumb Steelers are sitting home where they belong.  denver, whitewashed them.  I saw your comment about their so-called depleted squad you used as an excuse.  Heck everyone has major injuries this time of the year, no less so than your Steelers.  The Broncos were missing their No. 1 receiver in Decker, Dawkins, and others.  We are missing our number one rusher, Carter (10 sacks before he went down in week 13), among others. Why don't you post on the golf site, where we wouldn't have to read your excuses and irrational statements.  At least the Ravens made no excuses yesterday.

Report: Gronk's ankle will be OK for Super Bowl

Have to get Pollard out of the game of football.  The guy is a one person wrecking crew.  First he takes out Brady's ACL with a cheapshot blow to the side of the knee with his helmet, causing him to miss an entire season, now, for another team, I thought he took our Gron's knee, he grotesquely turned his ankle over.  Pollard is dangerous.  Who does he injure next?

Report: Gronk's ankle will be OK for Super Bowl

Of course Gronkowski will play.  For the love of Pete, it's the biggest game of his career up to this point.  How many times does a guy get a chance to play in Super Bowl?  The more important question is he going to practice?  Can he run in practice? Can he turn or stop on a dime?  What happens if he gets his foot stepped on?

Before the game, he will probably take a cortisone shot to numb the ankle.  Only his trainer knows if it is a good idea to give him a shot before practice.  The next two weeks, he will be eating ibuprofen pills as if they were jelly beans.

Prediction: Gronkowski doesn't play and the Patriots will lose because of the injury.
Dude, did you go to bed after he got hurt? He got re-wrapped and returned to the game...Do you have any more idiotic predictions?

Report: Gronk's ankle will be OK for Super Bowl

It'll be reported as a "lower body " injury.  you are right. you can never trust an injury report from Belichick.  But the man wins games.  so there is something to his method.  Go Giants!
