The best rendition of the Star Spangled Banner ever.  I still get patriotic chills listening to it.  What a shame that someone so talented couldn't control her demons or get the help she needed.

One of the best . .

It's a bit ironic that her move "Bodyguard" with Kevin Costner aired on Armed Forces Network last night here in Europe . . possibly during the last moments of her life.
Her choices during the last years of her life proved to be fatal . . particularly with BB.
One of the greatest voices and musical talents departs too soon . . what a waste . . RIP!

It has nothing to do wiith sports, I agree.  But I hope you can appreciate that she was and always will be a superstar.  I know she had her problems, but we're all human.  I grew up an 80's child and a headbanger.  Im 40 now, and I hear her old songs, and its sad that my image of her dwindled.  But make no mistake, she was one of the greatest voices of all time, lady Gaga can't hold her jock.  Rest in peace Whitney, snide remarks withcoming, you were an icon for us all, whether we were a fan at the time or not.

What a shame. I wonder if she o.d. She was never the same after marrying Bobby Brown. I wonder if she was heavily into drugs ( supposedly) before Brown or if just being with the guy turned her.

Listening to her sing the national anthem (without lip synching) and show actual feelings for our country, gave me shivers just like they did the evening she sang it.  RIP Whitney and thanks for sharing your voice with all of us!

This sucks! Drugs with fame. Talent with leeches! She had so much and let others drag her down. Everybody is in charge of their lives but her biggest supporters should have gotten together to protect her from those who only had their own vices.
