Moss did a USTREAM chat Monday and said he wants back in the NFL. (

There's really nothing more surprising in life than finding yourself watching Randy Moss do a live USTREAM chat at 10:00 a.m. on a Monday morning. Except for this: Randy Moss announcing that he wants to return to the NFL while chatting live with fans on USTREAM.

Latest NFL News, Notes

"I wanna play football," Moss said Monday morning. "Your boy is going to come back here and play some football, so I'm really excited. I had some things I had to adjust in my life."

It just so happens that Monday is Moss' birthday, so he gave back to fans by hopping on the Internet and holding a live chat. He seemed genuinely surprised by the fact that 100-plus people were watching around 9:45 a.m. ET, but was straight-up shocked when the number swelled to over 500 by the end of the hour, thanks to various people like our own Mike Freeman sending out links on Twitter.

Moss' live chat was both bizarre and entertaining. At one point, he pulled out a bag filled with all the hair he recently cut off and said it smells like "sauerkraut."

But, again, the most important thing is that Moss said he's coming back to football in 2012. Or, at least, wants to come back to football. There are teams (the Vikings, Raiders and Titans most notably) that can be crossed off the list.

Perhaps the Patriots are too much of a stretch for Moss. But there will be someone interested in taking a flier on Moss, particularly if he's as motivated as he sounded on Monday morning. On his birthday. During a USTREAM chat.

Randy Moss: 'I wanna play football'

Eman...talent-wise YES. But effort-wise NO. No one in the NFL can, or ever could do what Moss does. That's the million dollar question if he does go somewhere. Can he give the effort he once gavethe Patriots and The Vikings? If so, then YES he's better than 95%.

Randy Moss: 'I wanna play football'

His 20 kids and 5 wives must have sucked him dry already.  At least he has his fleet of cars and million dollar mansion that he is delinquent on.  Maybe he can join T.O. in the arena league and get paid in fish n chips for every game.

If he would have planned better financially, he would not have to play.

Randy Moss: 'I wanna play football'

Moss could still be good but better than 95% of the receivers out there now? Dude, slow down and take a deep breath. He wasn't better than 95% of the receivers in the league in his last year, what makes you think he will be that good after a year layoff? Don't get me wrong, I like Moss and actually do hope he comes back and makes an impact somewhere but better than 95% of current WR's? No.

Randy Moss: 'I wanna play football'

I remember people saying Steve Smith was washed up and the Panthers should get rid of him. Moss is still better than 95% of WR's in the league today. The main reason for caution is between his ears. If a man has truly grown up, he can make a change from being a distraction. Personally, I would only take a chance on him if I were a veteran team. The Ravens and Steelers are a couple of the few teams he could help. I didn't say Patriots because they have already had him, and the contract issues were the only negative, but sometimes those wounds don't heal. The Cardinals would be an ideal fit for Moss IF they had a Veteran QB. Could you imagine a scenario with Peyton, Fitz, and Moss on the same team and Moss' head was in team mode? Wishful thinking and I doubt many offers come Moss' way. Top five WR in stats and ability, but just as Owens, too risky to have on team....

Randy Moss: 'I wanna play football'

Amazing how all the athletes that have all the talent in the world and don't perform when they're actually playing, finally get it when it's over and they want some team to hand them money.  Maybe if you didn't bitch about everything under the sun that you didn't see eye-to-eye with, you wouldn't be BEGGING for a team to take a chance on you.  Maybe you TO and Favre can play backyard football some where.....LOSER!!

Randy Moss: 'I wanna play football'

I'm glad many of you are not GMs!!  Stop putting Moss back on New England!!!   There are many reasons Bill B got rid of him and they didn't want him making waves and being a cranky patch like he was at the start of 2010.  They CUT HIM to get rid of the cancer!  That's how bad things were!!  That doesn't just go away!   Heck, even Brady in the interviews shortly after you could tell he was glad to be rid of that a z z ...

So then Randy proclaimed "HAPPY TO BE HOME" when he got to Minnesota.  That was all well and good til he got cranky again, yelled at the buffet guy, etc.

Philly, Oakland, Washington, Arizona, Miami, Chicago, New Orleans, or wherever Peyton Manning ends up.. ..... best bets.

Randy Moss: 'I wanna play football'

I think that had Randy Moss was on the Patriots and in the Super Bowl he would have caught the ball their receiver failed to catch. There are a lot of things you might not like about Randy Moss, but failing to catch a ball is not one of the.

I liked Randy Moss chance of catching the ball in that situation.

As far as him returning to the NFL, there might be a few teams that would accept him, however, I would think his contract would be a small base and how he performs on the field.

Also his demeanor and disruption that he might cause, though with the Patriots, there were few if any problems, with the exception of his final year there. I think there was an occasion where he spoke out about Tom Brady.

I think that might have gotten him traded to Minnesota or however he got there, with him ultimately winding up in Tennessee.
