Tim Tebow and Limp Bizkit vocalist singer crooner screamer Fred Durst had dinner together Wednesday night in West Hollywood, according to a report in the New York Post. Now, some of you might be surprised to hear that, considering Durst’s nu-metal band and Tebow’s brand of philosophy and religion probably don’t mesh all that well together.

But if you think about it, OF COURSE they’d be friendly enough to have dinner together. If there’s any way to turn Limp Bizkit from a terrible creation into something that’s, at best, mediocre, it’d be Tebow’s healing touch.

And since Tebow is into performing miracles, it makes perfect sense that he’d try to save Durst’s floundering career.

Besides, if there’s anybody who can convince Durst to never again screw around with classic songs by George Michael, it’s Tim Tebow. If there’s anybody who can stop Durst from writing lyrics like, “I did it all for the nookie, c’mon/The nookie, c’mon/So you can take that cookie/And stick it up your yeah!” it’s Tim Tebow. And if there’s anybody who can demand Durst never (EVER) end up on a sex tape that somehow gets leaked to the public, it’s Tim Tebow.

Or I could be totally wrong about their conversation. In fact, let’s have a little fun*. Give me your best guess on what the two talked about during their dinner date. Be like Tebow, though (and not like Durst), and keep it clean. Otherwise, we’ll treat like you Limp Bizkit and try to forget we ever heard from you.

*In a perfect world, this contest would have a prize of the Limp Bizkit CD of your choice. But I figured that would be more of a deterrent than a prize, so forget it.

Tim Tebow and Fred Durst: BFFs?

divisive... I haven't read all the posts , so I'm not sure how this particular post turned into a debate on corruption is sports, but anyway... I think "scripting" is kind of a stretch to use to describe things like the steroid era, doping in the Olympics and Pete Rose.  Just because something is shady or outside the rules or whatever doesn't make it "fixing."  It is even debatable to use the term "scripting" about anything that doesn't involve a massive effort by both teams to determine how will be played and what the outcome will be.  Pro Wrestling is scripted.  The 2006 Swedish hockey team just did what they could to throw a game.

classic songs by George Michael
I really hope that was meant to be as tongue-in-cheek as the rest of the article.

Tebow is most likely NOT going to be able to morph into a poket quarterback so now the writers are all looking to find some twist that makes them more than captain obvious. It couldn't possibly be that they may actully be something remotely like 'fans' of each others' work. TEBOWMANIA is a new disorder. It exists in the heads of writers who are compelled to write about Teboew against their will. Tebow has taken over the minds of his haters and is forcing them to give him constant publicity.

Pete Rose not in the Hall is a joke.

Meanwhile, baseball let M Mcgwire(and Bonds) carry out his charade. and make a farce of the record book.  Pete Rose was a stud. Anybody who wouldn't have wanted him on their team as a player, is an idiot. The guy was money.

Hey divisive.................."Scripting".....

How is Pete Rose betting on his own team to win "scripting" anything???????? I'd hope EVERY coach goes out there and has his team trying to win each game(jus' like Pete). You act like the other team was in on it. Thats stupid.

It's not that hard. Durst is looking for Jesus in his old age, and when he found him he invited him to dinner.

Tim Tebow and Fred Durst: BFFs?

What a great piece of journalism. I was really wondering what was up with Tim Tebow since he said he did not have a "thing" with Katy Perry.

Longisland, let me stress that I didn't indicate that I feel that the game on the field is scripted. I was simply responding to juctionbox's reply to my initial comment. When I referenced "scripted" in my initial comment, I was referring to press conferences, halftime interviews, etc., which, to me, are patronizing to the fan.

However, I did indicate in my response to junctionbox that sports history has had incidents (actual games, matches) that were "scripted" through point shaving/fixing/gambling/schemes, performance enhancers, etc. That was not the point of my initial comment, simply my follow-up because I was misrepresented by junctionbox.

For starters:
- NBA official Tim Donaghy betting on games that he officiated
- The steriod era in baseball
- Doping in the Olympics (swimming, track, cycling, etc.)
- Sweden tanking in 2006 Olympic hockey game against Slovakia to avoid facing Canada or Czech Republic in the quarters (this has been written about extensively)
- Boxing...where do I start?!?!
- Pete Rose betting on his own team
- Black Sox scandal

I could go on, there are hundreds of examples. I'm not sure if they allow links on this forum, but if you look up "game fixing" or "match fixing", you'll find plenty of examples.

As junctionbox stated, in an effort to slam my comment, it comes down to money.

If there are movies and documentaries that talk about scripting modern day sports please list them here so that I may check them out.  To me the whole idea of the NFL "scripting seams far fetched.  I would not even think the NBA who get accused of having game outcomes predetermined would script.  Im not calling you a lair at all, just looking to become more enlightened on something I didn't think was possible .  If there is any literature about this please list as well.
