INDIANAPOLIS -- If you thought it was impossible for NFL people to fall more in love with Baylor quarterback Robert Griffin III, you thought wrong. RG3 proved exactly why on Sunday, shredding the 40-yard dash and looking as fast as expected en route to running an official 4.41 40-yard dash.

Andrew Luck, not exactly known as a speedster, was perhaps more impressive with his unofficial 4.59 40 time, later changed to a 4.67 official time.

Griffin's time (both officially and unofficially) was the second-fastest by a quarterback since 2006, with only Reggie McNeal's time of 4.35 in 2006 beating him out. Russell Wilson of Wisconsin ran a 4.50 40 for the second-fastest time of the day, and Jordan Jefferson of LSU ran a 4.59.

The bump up from unofficial to official doesn't matter too much; Griffin got below 4.4 seconds on an unofficial time and that's all people around the league really need to see.

Griffin ran track at Baylor (and in high school) and his performance at the combine -- on the field, in front of the mic, wherever -- has only continued to cement his status as a lock for top-five status in the NFL draft.

It would be stunning, honestly, if RG3 fell further than the second pick. There's a strong belief that the Rams will hold an auction for the No. 2 pick and that someone will pay a hefty price to move up and grab Griffin.

Which is why folks in St. Louis should be enjoying this almost as much as teams who are chasing Griffin are.

The Pac 10 is Soft and over hyped its seflf. You think he would have had the season he had if he played in the SEc. Just like the Big 12 abunch of over hyped QBS. Lets see Do i really have to go down the list. Every Qb that came out of USC for the last 10 years was suppose to be the next joe montana.

2011 Loser: Pac-10. Had 28 players drafted (only two in the first round), which is four fewer than last year.

2009

1 – Mark Sanchez, USC stinks

2008

5 – John David Booty, USC stinks
5 – Dennis Dixon, Oregon stinks
7 – Alex Brink, Washington State stinks

2007

3 – Trent Edwards, Stanford stinks

2006

1 – Matt Leinart, USC stinks
2 – Kellen Clemens, Oregon stinks

2005

1- Aaron Rodgers, Cal great
3 – Andrew Walter, ASU stinks
6 – Derek Anderson, Oregon State stinks
7 – Matt Cassel, USC decent

2004

7 -Cody Pickett, Washington stinks

2003

1 – Carson Palmer, USC Decent
1- Kyle Boller, Cal Stinks

2002

1 – Joey Harrington, Oregon Stinks
5 – Randy Fasani, Stanford Stinks

Where RE They NOW LOL You Got One in aron Rodgers. I feel after seeing his back up flynn do the same thing he did in that offense he might be a sytem QB

lionstitch, Steve Young was a moblie QB. John Elway was a QB that could run. Fran Tarkenton went to 4 SB's I believe, and he was a scrambler. Terry Bradshaw had wheels, and could run. Same with Roger "The Dodger" Staubach. There have been plenty of mobile QB's to play/win SB's. It's just that the media likes to forget that when talking about mobile QB's, because the stereotype is that only blacks produce athletic QB's. Rogers is pretty athletic as well.

rath of khan, please tell me what about Robert makes him a potential diva? Are you speaking from knowledge or opinion? See, when I look at Robert Griffin III I see a respectful young man that was obviously raised the correct way by 2 parents. I see a young man that graduated from college in 3 years with Honors. Diva??? I don't see it! That doesn't quite add up to Diva in my book. Once again it seems like you are speaking from some deep down issue within, instead of facts. What I mentioned about him speaks of nothing but hard work. Did, you graduate college in 3 years while participating in sports at the highest level? If so I commend you, if not I think you might want to look up the word "Diva", and do a little more research on RGIII.

mrbokc, I am very sereious and very interested in how you consider Luck to be overhyped?  Did you watch him in college at Stanford?  Watch him for three years?  Luck played in a run dominated pro set system at Stanford.  Let me repeat that Stanford is a run first team with over 60% of the plays geared to the run.  Than figure in Stanford often has sets with three tight ends specifically for run blocking and occassional pass catching.  Stanford did not have any speed receivers that could stretch the field.  Consider all of those facts and than look at Luck's numbers.

The last hyped up quarterback from Stanford (the brainy school) who was selected #1 in the first round turned out ok, winning two Super Bowls while starting in five Super Bowls and being a first ballot selection into the NFL Hall of Fame.

"Hey pop if the shoe fits wear it.Why the hell would any college football player want to go to Buffalo.I mean it has been 17 years since they last won a SB.And what the hell is there to do in Buffalo except watch the snowfall. And what does playing 2 hand touch have to do with anything. And if you are a Bils fan you have watched alot of bad football."

Hey lilonstitch, you are one clueless moron.  so, what year did the bills win that super bowl you are talking about?  Oh, and fitzpatrick signed his deal in 2011 after they went 5-2 (which is why the bills offered the contract) and then injuries derailed the team.  If you are going to bash on a fan then you should at least get YOUR facts straight.  No one cares about your opinion either...
