Darko gets 4 years, $20 million from Wolves

On the "David Kahn: The Greatest Hit s" mixtape, there will be a plethora of sweet tunes. My favorites being "The Night I Drafted Three Point Guards " and "I Don't Love You Anymore, Al Jefferson." Of course none will rival his seminal diddy, "Please Come Home, Ricky Rubio " but his latest chart-topper is sure to bring music to people's ears. It's a rip-roaring sing-along. What's it called?

"Darko Milicic Is My Answer At Center, Now And Forever ."

Kahn today reached an agreement with Darko Milicic on a 4 year, $20 million dollar deal , Chad Ford of ESPN reports. That's a lot of green for a guy widely considered to be one of the biggest draft busts in modern history. Kahn has been enamored with Milicic since he traded for him last year. While downplaying (and destroying the trade value) of Al Jefferson and Kevin Love, Kahn feels that Darko is the center of the future for the Wolves.

Can't you see it? Darko and Ricky Rubio running the pick and roll, Darko clumsily lumbering towards the rim towards a misguided pass Rubio has trouble adjusting to agianst NBA length? Missed alley oops, poorly executed pick and rolls, and of course, wasted possessions with Darko in the block. It's a dream come true!

In all seriousness, this is the beginning of the end for Al Jefferson in Minnesota. He's assured to be gone now, it's just a matter of figuring out where to dump him and how much of a loss they're going to take on the promising young power forward with excellent touch. After all, who needs those thing when you've got a 7-foot Serbian who loves the idea of thretening referees and their daughters and who was ready to head back to Serbia this summer.

And the hits just keep on coming...

Darko gets 4 years, $20 million from Wolves

Of course Darko Milicic has been a bust so far in his career, players who don't get playing time usually have no choice in the matter.  But we are talking about a guy who can hit over 50 percent from the floor for an entire season, he's done it twice.  He averaged over 11 and 5 for the last two months of the season in under 26 minutes a game.  With increased minutes and a more favorable system, it wouldn't be hard to imagine around 15 and 8, less than Al Jefferson but with the added benefit of defense!

I realize that it is a small difference, but the contract is 4 years and UP TO 20 million.  Details haven't been released, but my guess is the last 4 million is contigent on some things happening (games/minutes played, points scored, playoff appearances, etc).  4 years for 16 million, with what Darko has shown the abiltity to be since coming to the Wolves isn't that bad of a deal.  4 years for 20 million seems a little much, but not ridiculous like we're probably going to see the free agent market dishing out this year.

Darko gets 4 years, $20 million from Wolves

Not many players who average 6.4 pts and 4.1 assists get drafted #6 overall. Kahn is a buffoon, not Matt Moore. Would you rather have Demarcus Cousins at $3.1M or Darko at $5M??? Shaq did just fine in the triangle offense, and Cousins has great hands and agility for a big man. I would also rather have Gomes's contract the next 4 years than Darko, as I actually have read a boxscore where Gomes has scored 20 pts!!

The Wolves should have a lineup of Jonny Flynn, Steph Curry, James Anderson/Babbitt, Big Al/Kevin Love, Cousins, Gomes and then use their FA $$$ on a SF or SG.... Could have drafted another nice prospect/project C at #23 in Whiteside...

Kahn is getting laughed at by the league again, and as one agent said, according to JA ADANDE, "that's Kahn for you. As agents, we love what Kahn does."

Kahn's the only idiot I can think of that can turn the #16 and #23 picks into the #30 and #35 picks.... You don't think James Anderson will score 9 pts a game like Webster, at half the price???

Matt're actually the stupidest sportswriter i've ever met. You act like Al Jefferson is some sort of superstart, like LeBron James or something. Odds are, you didn't watch 1 timberwolves game this year, and not many people have. But to call this a huge blow for the timberwolves is retarded. You think Al Jefferson is some great player because of his stats, sweet. He's the worst defender i've ever seen, takes lousy shots all the time, and is fat and overweight. I'm not saying the Darko move was good, I disagree with that, but you need to actually watch a player before you judge them. And Ricky Rubio is actually pretty good...not many 18 year olds going 6th overall...learn your facts bro. I could do a better job. CBS hit me up with a job..this Matt Moore dude is a joke
