Alan Hahn was at the presser for the introduction of Amar'e Stoudemire today in New York, and caught this very interesting comment from James Dolan:

Dolan: "It takes courage to play where the lights shine brightest."

Maybe that's just a benign soundbite to fill the time. Or maybe it's a challenge to LeBron to accept his fate as the biggest star in the world and that he should embrace the responsibility of being that star. Or, it could be that Dolan expects him to go elsewhere and wants to get a potshot in at James for not opting for the Big Apple. Oh, what a tangled web you weave, Knickerbockers!

LeBrocalypse: Dolan challenges/takes shot at LBJ

As much as I may hate all the fanfare, and wish Lebron would just make a simple announcement as soon as he had decided, I must admit, as a Knicks fan, I must follow it.  I have to.  I think back to the days when the knicks were battling the MJ and Reggie, and I must say that I would go through all this for a month to have the team be that relevant again.   Lebron in New York would mean that my team would again be battling in the playoffs. and with the right pieces, They could be competing for a championship every year for the next 5 to 6 years.  Yes, all this drama is past being over the top, but i must accept it, and read through it all.  I will read through it all because until 9 pm et tonight, i can hope and dream that my team can once again matter.
