Cats and dogs, living together, mass hysteria !

Kobe Bryant and Raja Bell are meeting tomorrow in Los Angeles to discuss the possibility of Bell joining the defending champions to shore up their bench. You probably remember the two's most famouse meeting, in which Raja clotheslined Kobe like he was aiming for the WWE championship belt during the first round of the 2006 playoffs.

Kobe summarily dismissed Bell to the media, saying he didn't even know that "kid's" name. But now? It's been a few years, the two have made up somewhere along the way, and now Kobe is actually recruiting Bell. Bryant knows that with Shannon Brown and Jordan Farmar gone, there's an opportunity for the Lakers to improve their bench, which was horrific last year and nearly cost them their title.

Bell would fit in perfect with the Lakers off the bench, shooting corner threes as the defense collapses on the Lakers forwards/Kobe and playing top-notch defense. He would be a veteran option versus the inexperienced reserves they've been tossing out lately when the top guys rest.

But it would certainly be weird. A guy who clotheslined another guy going to the other guy's team. Championship dreams make strange bedfellows. So does LA being awesome.

Raja Bell and Kobe Bryant to meet, not rumble

This would be a good pick up for the Lakers.  Thoughts of Luke Walton guarding Paul Pierce again is horrible.  Bell could spell Kobe or Ron Artest so they could get some rest for 4th quarter runs.

Lakers trying to grab Raja b4 he Heat does

Lakers are trying to grab Raja Bell before the Heat does. Kobe is afraid of the Heat getting Raja and going against him in the finals. So what does he do? He's trying to recruit him before the competition does. Raja is one of the best players to guard Kobe. He gives Kobe problems every game against him - so why not take him out of the market. I'll laugh if the Heat gets Raja! Smile

What's That Kid's Name?

In a perfect world this would be an excellent fit for the Lakers, as I said in a previous post he's an excellent on-ball defender and a good three point shooter.  He's also in discussion with other prominent teams (Portland, Miami, San Antonio, Dallas, Utah and Chicago).  The Lakers can only offer 1.7 million but maybe the chance of playing with the defending Champs and not having to gaurd Kobe will convince him otherwise.  Herb Rudoy Bell's agent said, "I think [Bryant] has a lot of respect for Raja and Raja has a lot of respect for him," "I think they would rather play with each other than against each other."  This would make the Defending Champs extremely scary.  Just think of the multiple rotations Phil would have in his arsenal?  It would be unfair.  What up Miami?  Also, the Lakers two 2nd round picks Devin Ebanks and Derrick Caracter have been killing the Las Vegas Summer League.  They faced Sacramento last nite and Caracter (6"10 275lbs) more than held his own against Demarcus Cousins going for 14 points on six-for-nine shooting, five rebounds and four blocked shots. Two blocked shots were against Cousins.
