Marc J. Spears of Yahoo! reports the Celtics have re-signed guard Nate Robinson to a two-year, $9 million deal, plus bonuses.

Robinson, who's probably more famous for his dunk contest theatrics than his actual on-court production, averaged 10.1 points per game and shot nearly 40 percent from 3 last season splitting time between Boston and New York. He's an instant offense player, and evidently proved his worth in the playoffs for the Celtics, highlighted by him scoring 12 quick points off the bench in Game 4 against the Lakers in the Finals.

Before he became a Celtic at the trade deadline, he was in Mike D'Antoni's doghouse in New York. He's always been an offensive-minded player that can rack up points in a hurry (as evidenced by the 41 points he randomly dropped against Atlanta last season) and the kind of player Boston values off its bench.

Robinson is 26 and is entering his sixth season in the league. As mentioned, he finished last season averaging 10.1 ppg, but he averaged just 6.5 in about 15 minutes a night during his 31 games in Boston. In the playoffs, he averaged just 4.2 ppg in 7.5 minutes for the Celtics.

Nate Robinson signs with the Celtics

Well. Nate Robinson what a great sign by Celt's.

If C's put Robinson on the floor in Final Q that might be different result in Game 7. I agree celtics values off this kind of player in their bench what's a big mistake by coach
