Multiple outlets (Sam Smith , David Aldridge , Marc Spears ) are reporting that guard Ronnie Brewer has signed with the Bulls. The deal is reportedly three years, $12.5 million.

Reportedly, Brewer turned down an offer from Boston to sign with the Bulls.

Besides the fact that the Bulls should now be called the Chicago Jazz, this is a good signing for them. Brewer's an excellent athlete and quality defender that can shoot and get to the rim. He adds immediate depth in the backcourt and can play multiple positions. The Bulls lost out on J.J. Redick when the Magic matched his offer, so Brewer was a pretty nice Plan B.

Everyone is talking about the Heat's big offseason, but quietly, the Bulls have done a ton of work. Just these past few weeks Carlos Boozer, Kyle Korver and Ronnie Brewer have all been added to the roster. They were able to keep Luol Deng who they thought they'd lose and now with Derrick Rose in his third year and the rise of Joakim Noah, the Bulls are starting to look pretty scary.

Brewer played last season in both Utah and Memphis, but hurt his knee almost immediately upon arriving with the Grizzlies. In 58 games he averaged 8.8 points per game.

Ronnie Brewer signs with Chicago

Although they didn't get the any of the top tier free agents (Wade, James or Bosh) they did make a lot of noise.  They missed out on JJ Redick but I think Brewer is the better fit that has the ability and athleticism to stay with most SG in the league.  I believe they should've resigned Brad Miller, it almost negates the fact of signing Carlos Boozer.  They'll miss his presence in the paint especially trying to match up against Boston or Orlando come playoff time.  However their current free agent signings and upgrade at Head Coach should have them around 50 wins and finally past the 1st round of the playoffs.

I respectfully disagree.  Brewer was not brought in here to put up 15+ points and shoot 3's. They needed a guy with size (6'7"),  good on the ball defender, long and athletic to compliment Korver who is was brought in there to drain shots....Brewer will likely guard the other teams best scorer and be able to run the fast break with rose....i like the signing and the way this team is coming together.  I would have preferred Anthony Morrow over Kyle Korver but I know Paxon wanted more of a veteran solid shooter over the young up and coming guy...BOLD STATEMENT---Derrick Rose will be in the running for MVP this year...he's that guy!!!!

Ronnie Brewer signs with Chicago

Ronnie Brewer is NOT a shooter.  This is a bad signing by the Bulls.  His defense is suspect, and he can NOT create anything for himself.  Bulls fans had better hope for no more than 7-9 points per game and at least 2 T.O. anything different and disappointment is forthcoming.
