Report: Chris Paul prefers Orlando

The Chris Paul situation is heating up. He has a meeting with the team Monday that could influence him to stay or maybe to go. And now there's a report telling the world where he wants to be: Orlando.

Chris Broussard of ESPN reports the Magic have emerged as Paul's top preferred destination, supplanting the New York Knicks. In the story, Broussard mentions that while the Knicks are still high on Paul's list, he believes the Magic would be a better fit. Plus, CP3 also realizes Orlando has much more to offer New Orleans in a trade and thus believes it's a more realistic destination than New York,

CP3's desire to play in New York is largely tied to Carmelo Anthony and the chance to form a new Big 3 in the Big Apple with Amar'e Stoudemire. But that's not a guaranteed situation, especially with reports indicating Anthony prefers to re-sign with Denver. On top of that, the Knicks probably will be able to present the least attractive offer to the Hornets. Ken Berger's original report mentioned the Hornets would want to move Emeka Okafor with Paul, and if the Knicks took back Okafor, they wouldn't have the cap space to sign Anthony anyway in 2011.

Paul does have two years left on his contract so the Hornets don't have to move him by any means. But the team understands the predicament its star is in and realizes the unwanted situation new coach Monty Williams would have starting his coaching career with an unhappy star.

That's why the Hornets may indeed decide to trade Paul. But New Orleans would not limit itself to the four clubs on Paul's list, Broussard points out. Instead, the Hornets would look for the best deal for its franchise, according to his sources.

Currently the four teams Paul reportedly prefers are the Knicks, the Magic, the Mavericks and the Trail Blazers. The New Orleans Times-Picayune reported on Friday that Paul's agent Leon Rose reached out to all four teams this week. The Bobcats and Nets have also made inquiries about packaging a deal for CP3.

If Monday's meeting doesn't go well for the Paul camp, there are teams lined up ready to pony up just about anything to grab CP3. This thing is getting good. Well, that is unless you're a Hornets fan.

whatever happened to owner's being grateful for the amount of money the players produce for them. Just like the case in Cleveland. How much money did Leborn produce for Cleveland's owner? Does he  think he would have sold out stadiums if he wasn't there providing him ticket revenue? CP3 is a lesser example but it's similar. Owner's need to be thankful for the stars they have because they can always leave.

I know I'll catch *ell for this but I just can't let it go.

There is an "h" in the word you used in the sentence, "Whatever happened to ....... a contract."   I'll let you figure out where it goes. It's a silent "h" and in this case I highly doubt it was a typo. I comment on a lot of different boards and CBS has consistently and invariably produced the poorest spellers.  I am supposed to be working on this issue of having patience with idiots but I am having a really hard time.  They just keep coming.  It doesn't stop!  Somebody make it stop!

Now, about Chris Paul.  If this POS is using the Knicks like Lebron James did then I wish a thousand years of bad luck on him.  I am sick and tired of these a-holes pulling these stunts.  It's bad enough the league has deteriorated into a blacktop, chain-net, pickup game that pays better than a sandwich bag of rat-poison-laced crack, but to have to suffer the indignity of being a Knicks fan and watch the likes of the Miami Heat and the Orlando Magic run away with the league makes me sick.

Screw you guys.  I'm going home.

Could not agree more.  These players make more in a year them most people do in a lifetime.  In the non-sports world if you sign a contract you have to abide by its terms.  Suck it up and honor your contract.

I am a Utah Jazz fan.  The same year the Jazz had the third pick in the draft and could have had Chris Paul I questioned if DWill was the right choice.  Williams has proven there is no better PG outside of Nash in the league.  Paul can't stay away from injuries and now this?  Come on.

Who do these guys think they are?  I hope there are some major changes forthcoming in the way players run into the owners office and kick and scream like my 3 year old until they get their way.  Otherwise, here is one fan who is ready to invest A LOT more time with college ball.
