The Knicks have been hunting a shooting guard that can shoot this entire offseason. They flirted with Shannon Brown, but it looks like he's going back to Los Angeles . They tried to land Rudy Fernandez, but they don't have the assets to make it happen.

Not too many other players are left in the pool that can fill that. But there's still Roger Mason Jr. He can definitely shoot. And he says he might be headed to New York very soon.

In some random YouTube video where he's talking about an acting class that he participated in to get ready for a commercial, Mason says, "It's Roger Mason Jr. of the San Antonio Spurs and quite possibly very soon of the New York Knicks."

Mason was an absolute marksman for the Spurs two seasons ago, shooting 42 percent and hitting 166 3s. Then last year he fell back a bit, hitting just 33 percent and making only 88 from deep. He got pushed to the bench by George Hill and really kind of lost his role with the Spurs.

But he can definitely shoot. He's only 29 and in the up-and-down system Mike D'Antoni uses, he'd surely get some open looks. The Knicks want someone that can stretch a defense and open the interior a bit more for Amar'e Stoudemire.

There haven't been any reports on this other than Mason's comments. He had been linked to the Bulls pretty strongly after Chicago missed out on J.J. Redick, but evidently, the Knicks are in play.
