Charles Barkley rips Miami's Big 3

We don't really have an official ruling on anything in the NBA until Charles Barkley speaks on it. So after LeBron's tweet about his mental hit list and all the talk coming from Miami, Chuck weighed in on ESPN Radio 103.3 with Galloway and Company.

"I heard about LeBron's little tweet today that he's remembering everybody who said anything bad about him," Barkley said. "And he said 'everybody.' Well, I want him to make sure that he puts my name on that (list) ... I thought that his little one-hour special was a punk move. I thought them dancing around on the stage was a punk move, and I thought he should've stayed in Cleveland. Him joining Dwyane Wade 's team was very disappointing to me."

See, that's why everyone loves Chuck. He tells it like it is, or at least, how he sees how it is. Barkley continued:

"He's got enough people kissing his ass with his family and all the people who work for him," Barkley said. "We don't have to tell him what he wants to hear all the time ... That one-hour special, them jumping around on stage like punks, that wasn't cool to me. From a basketball standpoint, I wish he had stayed in Cleveland, and if he takes that as criticism, so be it."

It's hard to disagree with anything there. Everything turned quickly into a spectacle which only made the new trio in Miami that much easier to dislike. And it doesn't sound as if Chuck is exactly terrified about landing on LeBron's mental list of death. As he put it towards the end of the interview, "He knows where I'll be, I don't run. I'm on TV every week, I'm easy to find."

KG had ZERO chance of winning a title in Minnesota and had valiantly tried to lead the Timberwolves to a title for many years. Now that KG was moving into the twilight of his career, he went for a ring. Totally reasonable and understandable. LeBron hasn't even peaked yet. He has come very close to winning titles and if he had stayed in Cleveland, would have at least come very close a few more times. He just doesn't have the guts or heart of a KG to stick out the better part of his career as "the man" of his franchise and try to win a title. The mental weight of bringing home a championship was too much for LeBron. He's suprisingly a very weak willed person. KG and Lebron's moves couldn't be more different.

Lebron's "mental list"

Lebron's so-called "mental list" is easy to remember--everyone in the world minus Miami.  He's an embarassment to everything and everyone he is associated with.  Too bad someone with a little more humility or intelligence wasn't given his talent.  The exact opposite of a class act.  Doesn't even matter if he wins ten rings this guy is pathetic.

Charles never claimed to be the "King" of basketball only to turn out to be another player's boy!

Cavs didn't put good teams around Lebron? Really?

I don't understand how people can repeatedly say the Cavs didn't assemble quality rosters around Lebron James. Talk about rewriting history. Let's recap the past 4 seasons:

2007 - went all the way to the NBA Finals
2008 - made playoffs, lost in 2nd round to eventual NBA Champion Celtics
2009 - best regular season record in NBA, lost in Conference Finals to the Magic
2010 - best regular season record in NBA, lost in 2nd round to eventual Conference Champion Celtics...AFTER Lebron gave up on his team and tanked it in the last couple of games

Sorry, but to say the Cavs didn't put together good teams for Lebron to play with is just false, disingenuous and ignorant.

Let's also not forget that Lebrin has repeatedly demonstrated just how immature and selfish he is when he refused to congratualte the Magic in 2009 after they beat him and his team in the Conference Finals, gave up against the Celtics - as I already pointed out - in the 2nd round this past season and then put on the ultimate display of immaturity with his hour-long I'm-so-freakin'-wonderful special - an ego show he tried to disguise by giving proceeds to charity. Big whoop. The failure Lebron has experienced has been brought on by no one but himself and for the way he has behaved, he deserves nothing more.

Everyone is going to take sides here, but the truth is LeBron took the the old saying 'if you can't beat em, join em" approach. I will happily root against the Heat (which sucks because I like Wade), but they will probably do well. Was it a 'punk move?' The special surely was, as was dancing around like they had actually won something. Time will tell how this turns out, but I am still with Michael Jordan who said, "I would never call Larry and Magic and say 'hey, let's play together on the same team', I was trying to BEAT THOSE GUYS. These guys are used to having everything hand fed to them so why would you expect them to not want to get a championship that way either?

What's got your panties in a bunch?   Barkley is 100% right and a majority of NBA fans, reporters and NBA personnel (GM, COACHES and PLAYERS) agree with him.  Whether you like Barkley or not, everything stated in this article is a reflection of the majority, so, by coming on here and calling him a dumba$$ because he speaks his opinion, and then bringing up his past, only makes YOU look and sound like the DUMBA$$!!

I agree completely ! Barkley called it correctly, as so many of us here keep pointing out. 99% of the people who are blasting Barkley or defending LePunk are Heat fans. Or, they JUST RECENTLY BECAME HEAT FANS(as another poster said) !!

James could have let the Cavs and the others in the free agent derby know in a much more tasteful way that he was not going to play for them, but for the Heat instead. Renting a one hour TV special WAS A PUNK MOVE ! The trio dancing around on stage was something typical of elementary school PUNKS ! And I echo many others on this thread: If the Heat trio win any titles, LeBron will never be thought of as the main ingredient, as Kobe, Jordan, Bird and Magic all were. He has to have HELP winning a title, because King Chump couldn't do it on his own. Cleveland had talented players around him. He could have gotten it done. But he wimped out !

Heat fans, you know as well as I do that if LeBron had announced on the same TV special that he was going to New York or Chicago, you would feel the same way Barkley does about him. Bringing up Barkley's past and his off-court activities is childish

And here comes LeBron now acting like a little girl. " I'm making a list of comments people are saying that I don't like ! I'm gonna get you people !" What a sissy !

Yeah...but Chuck told Lebron he ain't runnin' from his ass. Lebron knows where he can find him. On the other hand, where are YOU in case Chuck wants to look you up. Think twice before you make coward ass remarks form behind your keyboard A-hole!!
