Charles Barkley rips Miami's Big 3

We don't really have an official ruling on anything in the NBA until Charles Barkley speaks on it. So after LeBron's tweet about his mental hit list and all the talk coming from Miami, Chuck weighed in on ESPN Radio 103.3 with Galloway and Company.

"I heard about LeBron's little tweet today that he's remembering everybody who said anything bad about him," Barkley said. "And he said 'everybody.' Well, I want him to make sure that he puts my name on that (list) ... I thought that his little one-hour special was a punk move. I thought them dancing around on the stage was a punk move, and I thought he should've stayed in Cleveland. Him joining Dwyane Wade 's team was very disappointing to me."

See, that's why everyone loves Chuck. He tells it like it is, or at least, how he sees how it is. Barkley continued:

"He's got enough people kissing his ass with his family and all the people who work for him," Barkley said. "We don't have to tell him what he wants to hear all the time ... That one-hour special, them jumping around on stage like punks, that wasn't cool to me. From a basketball standpoint, I wish he had stayed in Cleveland, and if he takes that as criticism, so be it."

It's hard to disagree with anything there. Everything turned quickly into a spectacle which only made the new trio in Miami that much easier to dislike. And it doesn't sound as if Chuck is exactly terrified about landing on LeBron's mental list of death. As he put it towards the end of the interview, "He knows where I'll be, I don't run. I'm on TV every week, I'm easy to find."

Well, bksballer, there is no crime in joining the other superstars since you are unable to deliver a championship by the team that drafted you. KG and the Wolves were going nowhere and he was getting old. They at least recieved something in return. Plus, there was no hour long special and Allen, Pierce, and KG were all at the end of their primes when they got together.

...The guy is already a HOF so all need now is a few titles to make his HOF career even better, so Lebron went to the team he thought he would have the best chance at winning titles for, what's the crime there?I disagree. What that says to me is that if LeBron never played another game he would be in the hall of fame. I don't think his resume is quite good enough. Another five years and he will probably be a lock, but not quite yet.

As for Charles, I love it. The guy speaks his mind and does not sugar coat anything.

Uh...no. Gasol was a ONE TIME ALL STAR in 7 years in the NBA. So wheres all these"stars" you mention? Odom, Bynum fisher? Nope. Not selected to ONE ALL STAR TEAM. And get your facts straight. Kobe rescinded his trade demands once the season began. And LA wasnt going to make any moves until Bynum went down with an injury. Thats why that got Pau in the middle of the season, not to appease kobe, but La had no big man once Bynum went down. Oh, and before bynum got hurt, and Gasol even put on a LA for the very first time, LA had the BEST record in the west. So in a nutshell, Kobe cried for a while, sucked it up, made the players around him better, was tops in the west when gasol came to LA, got one piece(not all these stars u mention) and went straight to the finals. lebron had a 60+ win team 2 years in a row, choked, and bailed out on a city and ran to play with a REAL CLOSER. Whos was worse?

The word to your post was "Younger".

Joining a winning team at the end of your career for one last chance at a championship is a far cry from bailing on your team at 25. What if Jordan had bailed on Chicago at 25? MJ didn't win a ring until he was close to 30. Lebron's a punk and his showboat one hour slap in the face special to Cleveland shows it.

Don't matter Lakers will still beat down on Miami.

Three punks dancing around like they already won something. Gonna be alot of people crying in miami next year when Kobe gets his 6 ring.

Don't be so Naive. Lebron James is FAR from the end of his career. How can you compare the two? Lebron had 7 good years left in Cleveland and he bailed when he was nearly on top. Why do so many of you compare lebron leaving cleveland to those other stars who tried to get a ring before they retired. It's CLEARLY not the same thing. Get a grip and learn the game.

I agree with Charles on two of his three points. LeBron's one hour special was stupid. He rubbed it in Cleveland's face which is never a good thing. The city was good to you for seven years and he should have given the Cavs fans more respect than that.Second, the Big Three looked like idiots on stage. They haven't won so much as one game together. Celebrate and jump around after the championship, not before camp opens. HOWEVER, the one thing that Chuck said that I totally disagree with is LeBron should have stayed in Cleveland. The Cavs repeatedly proved inept at placing quality talent around James and their current roster was loaded with bad contracts and overpaid players. Free agency allows players to go wherever they want. The Cavs don't own James. He put in his time and found a better opportunity elsewhere. Ask Barkley if he wished he had an NBA ring. The answer is yes.In a day when the media repeatedly rips players for caring more about money than winning, we found three players willing to take less money for the sake of winning. Yet, the media turns against them as well. Seems kind of stupid to me. While I'm still not a Heat fan, I tip my hat to the players and franchise for pulling the move off. I'll still be rooting for my Spurs but everyone has to keep a closer eye on that team in South Beach.
