We don't really have an official ruling on anything in the NBA until Charles Barkley speaks on it. So after LeBron's tweet about his mental hit list and all the talk coming from Miami, Chuck weighed in on ESPN Radio 103.3 with Galloway and Company.

"I heard about LeBron's little tweet today that he's remembering everybody who said anything bad about him," Barkley said. "And he said 'everybody.' Well, I want him to make sure that he puts my name on that (list) ... I thought that his little one-hour special was a punk move. I thought them dancing around on the stage was a punk move, and I thought he should've stayed in Cleveland. Him joining Dwyane Wade 's team was very disappointing to me."

See, that's why everyone loves Chuck. He tells it like it is, or at least, how he sees how it is. Barkley continued:

"He's got enough people kissing his ass with his family and all the people who work for him," Barkley said. "We don't have to tell him what he wants to hear all the time ... That one-hour special, them jumping around on stage like punks, that wasn't cool to me. From a basketball standpoint, I wish he had stayed in Cleveland, and if he takes that as criticism, so be it."

It's hard to disagree with anything there. Everything turned quickly into a spectacle which only made the new trio in Miami that much easier to dislike. And it doesn't sound as if Chuck is exactly terrified about landing on LeBron's mental list of death. As he put it towards the end of the interview, "He knows where I'll be, I don't run. I'm on TV every week, I'm easy to find."

So quick to jump on the 'bron conestoga wagon? you're probably from cleveland right? Or at least your last name is ehlo, first name joel, right? Taking the "high and holy road" when defending the akron hammer is about as telling as throwing hand grenades in a glass mansion...all points bulletien to solicit constructive comments about the content of what was spoken rather than the individual who spoke his mind...kudos chuck

While you certainly have the TRIO down there, but what are they a trio of?  Three pieces of human defecation.  Kind of like sh!tb@lls!  Hey, Sh1tb@lls and tarballs, is there some similarity there? I think so!
Instead of enjoying the season, you fans will have to put up with all the sh!t that is goping to come your way. You'll be in constant defend mode. Won't that be fun!

Tarballs??? Him choosing to go to another team gives you a right to sling racial slurs?? I would have left racist Cleveland fans like you also. You and your cruddy owner Gilbert look at Lebron as property not a person. He knew that and made the right decision. I used to think he made a bad decision but the more I hear comments from the ultimate loser Clevland fans it is clear that he was only a good "tarball" when he was on your team. Once he left the truth really came out. Fans like you are a black eye for all sports!

Right or wrong...Barkley speaks his mind.  I agree with him here.  LeBron James would have done more for his legacy winning one championship as the leader of the Cleveland Cavaliers than if he wins 5 championships as a role player on an all-star team in Miami.  James is one of the best players in the NBA, he shouldn't have to "join" somebody else's team - namely Dwayne Wade.  It's not like Cleveland wasn't trying to put together a championship team around James.  He insulted the team, city and fans that have supported him up to this point.  It is very easy to dislike James right now.  That 1-hour "selection" special was painful and ultimately disresepectful.  That Miami Heat "WWF" style ego-a-thon made me sick.  I used to kinda like LeBron.  Not any more...

Doin it when your 25 and 35 are a big difference.  You want to claim to be the best but then you join 2 other all stars that's not being the best. That's playing second fiddle

First off KG only asked to be traded after it was common knowledge in minnesota that the team was shopping him before they bothered to tell him.  KG put TIME into the Twolves and most of us Twolves fans were happy to see him get to grab a ring in Boston.  He carried the Twolves franchise for years and you can see the toll it took as his body is breaking down now.  Don't you DARE compare KG to what LBJ just did to cleveland.

LBJ grabbed the city of cleveland by the short hairs and sucker punched them.  He would never give anyone a straight answer when the questions started about what he was going to do when his contract was up.  They have been talking about this for years.  Then instead of quietly letting the Cavs know and move on he decided to rip a cities heart out just so king ego could get some tv time.  I did NOT watch it and was really glad i didn't after seeing what he did.  Go ahead and root for LBJ it's your right.  But if you are comparing what he and KG did then you sir are either a couple wings short of a plane or just spewing garbage with no real knowledge.

Is somebody still paying Barkley for his comments? Yeah, TNT.  They love having Sir Charles.
Whats the money go to anyway Alcohol and Gambling great roll model. Considering Sir Charles made it abundantly clear that he didn't want to be a role model and parents should be role models, not sports stars, this comment is stupid.  Learn something before you speak.

What does he owe Cleveland, nothing. How about when Prince James said that he "wouldn't let anyone down".  Did you bother watching this past season's Eastern Conference Playoffs?  Or how he completely dicked the Cavs over?  How about the Cavs fans?  I don't know, but it looked like he let a TON of people down.  Notice how he's slowly become the most hated man in the NBA?  You think there's a reason for that?  Personally, I don't feel bad for the Cavs.  I don't think he's done anything in particular to have his ass kissed over.  They should have just spent their money on other free agents and said "Screw Prince James", but they didn't and that's their problem now.  My issue is the incredible amount of narcissicism that Prince James showed in wooing teams like the Knicks, Heat, and Cavs and not being man enough to give them phone calls earlier in the day to let them know his decision.  My issue is picking Jim Gray to juggle Prince James' balls in his mouth for an hour.  My issue is that he proclaims himself to be a "King", yet goes to a team where he'll always be just a "Prince" which has made him look more like a "Jester".  He's turned himself into a joke.  Good for him if he wins some titles.  He'll still just be the Prince of Miami while D-Wade is the King.

Now, like out of a bad high school flick where a kid gets bullied, he's making a list of all the people who have talked smack about him since his "decision".  He's pathetic.  He's a God damn joke.  His twitter nonsense is one of the most immature things I've ever seen out of an athlete.  "I'm keeping a list and I'll show you.  I'll get you guys back."  Way to rise above it all, Prince James.

Who would have had a problem with Lebron's TV show if he had stayed in Cleveland. Nobody.  We would have respected him for wanting to finish what he started.  Now we don't respect him because he came off looking like an ass.

Go back seven years say the Clippers won the rights to Lebron. Would everone be saying the same stuff now, NO. Who knows how people would have reacted.  You can't say that we wouldn't be saying the same stuff and I can't say that we would.  Pure speculation on your part.
Go back to the Bar Charles take another leave of absence. Majority of people dont care what you have to say. Based on the number of responses on this board (not including other websites), including your own, plenty of people care about what Sir Charles has to say.

I couldn't agree with you more.  Didn't Sir Charles go to Phoenix with the intention of winning a championship?  What's the point of be a free agent if you can't leave your team.  I now root for LeBron because it's become fashionable to pick on him for exercising his rights.

Basketball is nothing but overpaid thugs! Nobody watches like they did when Jordan played! Vegas can't host an all-star game without the guns blazing! Raise the rims and make basketball what it used to be about, shooting the rock! Players have outgrown the 10 foot rims, raise them to 15 feet. Less dunks and more shooting!

Isn't this a dead topic already?  With the exception of Miami fans, everyone realizes this team will never be mentioned among the truly great teams even if they win multiple titles.  &n
bsp;Despite the Heat fans constant comparisons to the Celtics, the situations were vastly different.  Garnett, who at 30 was beginning the back nine of his career, was TRADED to the Celtics.  Yes TRADED!  Even though he may have made it clear he wanted out, the Timberwolves were still able to control that situation.  The Celtics offered up a package of players including Al Jefferson, who was and still is considered a good young PF, that the Wolves deemed valuable enough to pull the trigger.

Garnett gave 12 yrs to the Wolves not 7 like LeBron.  30 in basketball years is old.  Your explosiveness begins to fall precipitously after 30 for most athletes.  25 and you are just entering the peak years.  Again, vastly different.   How many 30 year old sprinters win gold?  Close to if not zero.  25 years old?  Just about all of them are 24-27. Starting to see the difference here.

Also, Ray Allen, the third piece of the Celtics Big 3, was all but forgotten as he languished in Seattle.  When he signed with the Celtics he was nowhere close to the caliber of player that LeBron or DWade is right now.  Hell, he wasn't anywhere close to the player Ray Allen was when he played for the Bucks.

Chuck hit this one on the head.  If you want to criticize his viewpoints because he doesn't have a ring then how in the hell can you watch ESPN?  Jim Rome?  What titles did he win?  Chris Berman?  Colin Cowhurd?  I don't think these guys ever played any sports other than tee ball.

The bottom line is that Chuck is one of the most colorful commentators on the airwaves today and he is beloved and respected by most.    Someth
ing that sadly cannot be said for LeBron "My friend DWade is the King" James and his recent actions.
