Heat Triad superstar opens up "Hater Day" on Twitter, laughing at opponents. We all want to know where the anger is, despite never having evidence it's there at all. Posted by Matt Moore

No, seriously, LeBron James is not bothered by your hatred of him. Today on Twitter, James (@KingJames ) took to his plethora of haters, declaring today "Hater Day." He ain't mad at you, though, haters:

This is what's called, playing to the crowd. In the overused-to-a-sickening-degree professional wrestling analogy, this is saying something derogatory about the city you're currently performing in. It's a definite thumb-bite to the plebian crowds throwing tomatoes. And it's also telling.

There's this narrative trying to be built for James where he finally gets angry at everyone hating on him, all the doubters, all the critics, and responds with anger on the floor leading to a dominant stretch. James has bought into this whole thing, talking about "making a list" and being focused on proving people wrong. But this latest gag on Twitter seems more indicative of James' personality. That is, he just doesn't take much seriously. He doesn't have to.

He's a 25 year-old player making $14.5 million dollars this season, $109.8 million total during this contract . He has two sons, now plays in South Beach, parties with Jay-Z, gets financial advice from Warren Buffet, runs clubs like he owns them in Vegas , His life may not be perfect. But it's pretty close. And besides that, James simply isn't disturbed by these things. There's been no evidence of him getting angry with players or personnel. He may sulk, he may disapprove, but anger? It has never been part of the persona he's let us see. If he's capable of genuine anger at any above-normal level, it's never been exhibited. (This in comparison with Kobe Bryant and Kevin Garnett who are essentially two red tea kettles blowing steam on the court constantly.)

Instead James has always reflected a happy go-lucky playful nature. He dances with teammates. He raps on-court (and in the locker room, loudly). He chuckles in interviews and smiles for the camera. This man is not a brooder. Even after a Finals loss and subsequent ejections in the playoffs, including the Conference Finals, James has never lashed out, never kicked an object out of anger, even. Think about that. Dirk Nowitzki has him beat in the "public display of frustration" angle. When the Cavs were ousted by Boston, James hugged KG then took off his jersey for the last time as a Cavalier. This is not a man fueled by rage and hatred, but by one looking to expand his empire and brand.

What's odd is that this is a criticism. If you or I acted like we want start to in our workplaces? We'd get sent home or to anger management classes. We'd question how seriously we take things and try and gain some perspective on what's important in life. But for athletes, we demand more. We demand a thirst for blood, for vengeance. And James has not fulfilled that, not in his play, and not with his actions. We want our player to seethe at the nasty things said to them on Twitter, or ignore them as being above it. Not to indulge in playful banter with them. James is not who we want him to be, and that's really been and continues to be his biggest crime.

Laughing off his haters while he retweets their misdirected, misguided, over-the-top anger towards a man they don't know at all? That's par for the course, and part of the reason his trip to Cleveland on December 2nd is far more dangerous than the media, league, or Heat understand. There's only one thing that makes a brokenhearted, jersey-burning crowd even more angry. When the "traitor" laughs in their face. And that's what will happen. It's just how James is.

Somehow I think "Hater Day" is going to wind up being "Hater Year."

'Y'all are just hatas!! Im the King!!

People still talk like that? And there are other people in this world who think its cool?  When did cheesy as hell become cool?  King James is by far the cockiest cheesiest loser to ever play a professional sport. I think he belongs in the WWE.  I cant believe he's really a person.  Apperently he actually exists though.  Blows my mind

LeBron opens up "Hater Day" on Twitter

LeBron and Wade Conversation Transcripts secretly recorded back at the 2008 summer games in a local restaurant

Waiter: "Good evening Gentlemen welcome to >>>>> (restaurant name withheld), can I get you something to drink"

LeBron: "Ummmm. Do you have any vitamin waters?"

Dwade: "What’s that?"

Lebron: "Well it’s this drink that is made up at a Boys and Girls Club in Connecticut somewhere. I think I going to endorse it soon"

Bosh: "Endorse something? How do you do that?"

LeBron: "Well I know up in Canada it’s hard to get any endorsements but down here its easy. All you have to do is make believe"

Dwade: "Like when I tell my girlfriend I love her?"

Lebron: "Yea, just like that"

Bosh: " I'll have one of those too!"

Dwade: " Me too!"

Lebron: "You know we could make a lot more money if we all endorsed it together"

Dwade: "What do you mean?"

Lebron: "Well usually when big stars get together for a cause it gets a lot of media attention. We could do the same thing for Vitamin water"

Bosh: " Is that like they did when they recorded "We are the World" a few years ago?"

Lebron: "Jesus....Just keep eating the bread Chris.....anyway, if we all got together we could really put it on the map. I mean look what you and Chuck did with T-Mobile"

Dwade: "Yeah your right..... I guess we could really do that with just about anything!"

Lebron: "My point exactly. (Pause)........ You know...... I just had a great idea!"

Dwade: " Hahaha, I know that look Lebron. Your up to something!"

Bosh: " Could you pass the butter please?"

Lebron: "You know we could all work out our contracts so that we all become free agents at the same time. Then we could all join forces and become a SUPER TEAM"

Dwade: " He he he"

Bosh: " Are we going to ask Kobe to join us?"

Lebron: "Scr*w him, he's got enough rings. You know the more I think about this the more I think we could actually pull this off. Think about it. We could win championships, get great endorsement deals, make lots more money that way then we could with those puny salaries we can earn. We could establish our "Brands" and make millions, dare I say Billions!"

Bosh: "Is Brand what you eat when your constipated?"

Lebron and Dwade together: " Shut up fool and eat your bread!"

Lebron: " Let me call a friend of mine, Warren Buffett and see what he thinks about this. Dwade let me borrow your phone!"

Dwade: " Sorry man, my phone reception is horrible. You could get more bars with a piece of aluminum foil wrapped around a popsicle stick!"

Bosh: " Hey Lebron just put the antenna up against my grill, that ought to help"

Lebron: " That’s the first smart thing you have said all day dog!"

Dwade: " Do you think this shirt makes me look fat?"

You can all laugh about it. Its ok! The little baby is gone! Good riddence! He tanked it once..he'll do it again! You can add me to the list 'Bronny, god knows your on mine! Second Fiddle!

Yes, he has a happy-go-lucky nature & that's why he shut it down & didn't muster up a response when his teammates couldn't pull their weight in playoff crunch-time.  I would've loved to see a bit of anger (as opposed to moping like a child).  At some point he'll need it to start boiling inside him & it just won't be there.

I dont understand the 'he is everything wrong with the modern athlete argument'.  Yes, he absolutely lacks the killer instinct, & drive to be great like jordan, like kobe ect.  but who the hell cares? The guy just enjoys playing the game & living his life. To me he acts much more like a varsity highschool player who takes court to play against the JV squad. He knows he can dominate them, he knows his skill is unparalleled, but he simply is out there to have fun & enjoy the game, not to get angry and be a fiery competetior.

This guy is everything that is wrong with the modern day athlete.

Spoiled, self-centered, and lacking heart.  MJ would have eaten this guy alive!

He can have all of the money and fame in the world.  It still doesn't equate to class and dignity.  Enjoy the self-proclaimed "King" Heat fans.  I am pulling for the Cavs to build a power franchise over the next five years.  I know it is a long shot, but the people of Ohio deserve to see a winner while LBJ has to "witness" it.

I actually like watching the man play ball.  I think he is the most exciting player in todays sports.  What i hate is the fact that these two (Lebron and Bosh) have ruined the hopes of all small market teams in the NBA.  How is a team like the Toronto Raptors or the Cleveland Cavs ever going to compete with the Heat, Lakers, Celtics and Magic over the next 10 years???  Look at the NFL!!! everyone can beat anyone!!  Thats not the case in the NBA.

Lebron James please be quiet and just play basketball. You are adding fuel to a vey large fire that you wont be able to contain "IF" the Heat dont win the NBA title or even worse get knocked out of the playoffs. The Decison, The Magazine article, The comment about taking names, now hater day??? What have to done for them to hate on you??? 2 MVP's Steve Nash has 2 of those! Come on take a lead from Bosh and Wade and just play basketball. The NBA world doesnt revolve around you.
