Miami Heat lose; LeBron James 'not having fun'

Miami Heat forward LeBron James tells reports that he's "not having fun right now." Posted by Ben Golliver heat-stroke Tucked away at the very bottom of the wire report for the Miami Heat's 93-77 loss to the Indiana Pacers Monday night was a six-word quote from Heat star forward LeBron James that said it all.
"We're not having fun right now," James said.
Miami now stands at 8-6. Heat haters will surely cackle at the ugly loss and corresponding disappointment from James, as it reads like a comeuppance of the highest order for a player long known for dancing and goofing off before and during games. This picture, courtesy of, is worth a million words to those preying on Miami's downfall. James' comment is reflective of his team's overall play; you can watch some really ineffective Heat defense broken down at length on The video doesn't lie: there's a lack of camaraderie, a lack of going the extra mile, a lack of pinpoint mental sharpness that only develops when entire teams are motivated together. The Heat are missing all of those things right now, and it doesn't feel like a cop out to blame this on the injuries. With co-captain Udonis Haslem going down in such a major fashion and Mike Miller still a ways away from making his return, it's very easily for the rest of the Heat players, including its stars, to slip just a touch mentally, thinking about what the future will look like when the team is back together healthy rather than focusing on the given task at hand. That's a big problem for Miami because they have such a prominent bullseye placed upon them by the rest of the teams in the league. Aside from knocking off the Los Angeles Lakers, there's no better way to generate excitement in your team than by derailing the Miami Championship Express like the Pacers did on Monday.  After the loss, Heat coach Erik Spoelstra looked and sounded just a touch desperate. He, clearly, isn't having much fun either.
"Sometimes you have four or five games where nothing seems to go right."
An accurate statement, given the circumstances. The question for Miami: is that acceptable?  Is their recent defense acceptable? Most importantly, is a no-fun-having LeBron James acceptable? Open questions all, but something needs to change, because Haslem isn't returning any time soon and the race for the Southeast Division crown is on in full force, with the Orlando Magic sitting pretty at 9-4. The Heat and Magic face off on Wednesday night in Orlando. Surely the Magic are looking to return the favor for the walloping Miami put on them back in October, and revenge for Orlando wouldn't be much fun for LeBron James, either.

James is clearly a one on one guy and not used to playing team basketball.  Take the ball out of his hands that many times down the floor and he either loses interest or focus (or both), and can't seem to be the same dominant player he was in Cleveland.

If starting the "Big 3" doesn't start to show dividends soon, one of them is going to have to go to the bench to help shore up the second unit.  Now I ask you... who of those three will swallow his pride and become a non-starter?  Probably none of them, and therein lies the problem.  A team of so called super stars rarely wins championships.

Maybe time for another grandstanding intro night or a ticker tape parade to get them fired up again?  LOL!!!!

So what Lebron's not having fun: WE ARE!!!!

King James can take D-Wade and C-Bosh with him and go straight to basketball HELL, aka obscurity!!!! Not at all surprising that the Heat..SUCK!!! After all, Lebron still doesn't participate in the offense unless he has the rock. Does he even know how to set a pick for a teammate, or care to, for that matter? He just stands behind the 3-point line watching like...a king crying without his ball. (Wahhhhhhhhhhh!!!) Lebron is one of the all-time ball hogs in NBA history. Heck, he makes Joe Johnson look like Steve Nash, and you can't get the ball out of Joe's hands unless you have adhesive remover. I, and every other fan who knows thismuch about teamwork, are loving this, and will continue to love it in each of the subsequent seasons that the Heat continue to...SUCK!!!!

Are you angry? I don't think anyone believes that LeBron reads anything other than what LeBron's sponsors want. If it doesn't ooze the love he won't read it. I'm positive that you are angry about something within your own life, no? Be good Holmes and maybe relax more often.

And Miami has another problem....their atttitude. They really thought they were just gonna 'Electric Slide' their way through the season. Newsflash - teams aren't gonna just roll over because they went and formed the SuperFriends. And the parade, the partying I think put a lot of folks off.

The season is a long way from over and for any team to look past the Miami Heat would be a great mistake.  Still very talent heavy at the top unfortunately not much of a team (chemistry).  The team does not play well together, piss poor chemistry right now.  If I were to grade this team right now I would give them a C-.  It's early and all will be forgotten if and when the team gets hot and can get some confidence playing together.

Basketball is a team game and this is an example of why Scottie Pippen is in the basketball hall of fame.  One of the greatest team players who understood the game.  If the Heat are going to succeed Lebron needs to understand humility.  There is only one basketball and only one play can score per each trip down the floor.  Three stars (although Bosh is questionable just a stat guy in Toronto) and two need to be looking to pass, rebound, set picks, etc.

Does Miami need a banger down low?? Yes. Do they need a better bench? Everyone can use a better bench. The central problem with Miami is  the fact that they have 2 guys who need to dominate the ball in order to be effective. Someone's gonna have to take a backseat and drastically change the way that they play.
