Miami Heat lose; LeBron James 'not having fun'

Miami Heat forward LeBron James tells reports that he's "not having fun right now." Posted by Ben Golliver heat-stroke Tucked away at the very bottom of the wire report for the Miami Heat's 93-77 loss to the Indiana Pacers Monday night was a six-word quote from Heat star forward LeBron James that said it all.
"We're not having fun right now," James said.
Miami now stands at 8-6. Heat haters will surely cackle at the ugly loss and corresponding disappointment from James, as it reads like a comeuppance of the highest order for a player long known for dancing and goofing off before and during games. This picture, courtesy of HotHotHoops.com, is worth a million words to those preying on Miami's downfall. James' comment is reflective of his team's overall play; you can watch some really ineffective Heat defense broken down at length on NBAPlaybook.com. The video doesn't lie: there's a lack of camaraderie, a lack of going the extra mile, a lack of pinpoint mental sharpness that only develops when entire teams are motivated together. The Heat are missing all of those things right now, and it doesn't feel like a cop out to blame this on the injuries. With co-captain Udonis Haslem going down in such a major fashion and Mike Miller still a ways away from making his return, it's very easily for the rest of the Heat players, including its stars, to slip just a touch mentally, thinking about what the future will look like when the team is back together healthy rather than focusing on the given task at hand. That's a big problem for Miami because they have such a prominent bullseye placed upon them by the rest of the teams in the league. Aside from knocking off the Los Angeles Lakers, there's no better way to generate excitement in your team than by derailing the Miami Championship Express like the Pacers did on Monday.  After the loss, Heat coach Erik Spoelstra looked and sounded just a touch desperate. He, clearly, isn't having much fun either.
"Sometimes you have four or five games where nothing seems to go right."
An accurate statement, given the circumstances. The question for Miami: is that acceptable?  Is their recent defense acceptable? Most importantly, is a no-fun-having LeBron James acceptable? Open questions all, but something needs to change, because Haslem isn't returning any time soon and the race for the Southeast Division crown is on in full force, with the Orlando Magic sitting pretty at 9-4. The Heat and Magic face off on Wednesday night in Orlando. Surely the Magic are looking to return the favor for the walloping Miami put on them back in October, and revenge for Orlando wouldn't be much fun for LeBron James, either.

Miami Heat lose; LeBron James 'not having fun'

Not sure why this is a surprise. I have said it since day one, they have no big man. You must have some big men to win in the NBA end of story. Lebron and Wade are the same type of player and Bosh is not a 4 or 5 man. I said first of season they will be lucky to make playoffs and if they do the Celts and Magic will oust them due to low post game.

Playoffs? Playoffs?? Are you kidding me? Playoffs?Laughing

miadynasty1, at the rate they're playing, they 're NOT going to make it to the playoffs. Btw, not everyone is hating your team except that you guys need to understand that your team and most of its fans thought it was going to be an easy ride to the finals and now they learnt that ALL the teams is trying to win the tittle and not just the Heat and therefore they need to play their "A" game every time they step on to the court.

What the Heat needs to do first is to show up and play ball as a team. When you have 3 superstars on the same team, it seems that no one knows who is the leader on the team. Secondly, they need to understand that you need to bring your "A" game everytime they play this season as every team is gunning for them. They need to stop acting like they solve the problems when they beat a team, sometimes barely, and be humble about their victory. DO NOT underestimate your apponents. Sometimes they play as if they already won the games even before it started, like lasy night againts Indiana for example. Everyone is just standing around waiting for the other guy to make the plays either on offense or defense, the team look lost most of the time as if it was their first game playing together. ALL 3 star players needs to step up, that's all there is to it and the coach needs to decide who is the #1, 2 and 3 options. The 3 spot is easy, Bosh, and he is the only one that seem to be improving as he knows his place but Wade and LeBron needs to set their ego aside and just need to take turn in leading their team.

LBJ Wade and Bosh are on long term contracts.  No one should be panicking.  I think its best they are being emotionally tested so early into the dynasty.  Lets go through these issues, see how each other deals with problems, learn from this and move on.  For those that think they wont figure it out, you suffer from hater syndrome.  Come playoffs, no team in the nba will want to face the Heat in a 7 game series.    Dont be surprised if Wednesday they go into Orlando and blow them out again.  On the other hand, i'm admitting there issues from coaching to depth, but it will be figured out.  I will say i've never had issue with Spoelstra, but the offense has no gameplan.  Go to Bosh more or lets get Wade/Lebron running a 2/3 pick and roll.  Too many positions Wade LBJ dribbling out the clock.  Dampier is a necessity.  Still way too early to put out so much hate.  They are not on a 15 game contract.  All you haters have YEARS of hating left, so be patient.

It's funny how everyone is ready to attack Lebron and Bosh, even though Wade had a terrible game last night and no one's saying anything.

Another Hater!  Lebron cant jumpship! what are you talking about! Bosh is sick! 14 games in and the world is panicking..Wade has been my fav player forever and i'll admit he is the one that has been off most..I think Bosh should be the centerpiece of the offense as he has been most efficient (look at the stats and dont fall victim to the media)..Im glad they are going threw this early bc they have YEARS to fix it.
