Miami Heat forward LeBron James bumps Heat coach Erik Spoelstra as he walked to the bench during a timeout. Posted by Ben Golliver It's a white hot mess down in Miami, as Royce Young noted the Heat called a post-game players-only meeting after a Saturday night loss to the Dallas Mavericks. Before that meeting, During the third quarter of Miami's loss to Dallas, a light, perhaps unintentional, physical confrontation occurred between Miami Heat forward LeBron James and embattled coach Erik Spoelstra. As James walked back to the team's bench during a stoppage of play, Spoelstra moved toward the key, as coaches often do, to discuss strategy and give the players some space on the bench. As the two walked in opposite directions, neither veered off course, and James's right shoulder contacted Spoelstra's right shoulder, causing the much smaller Spoelstra to retract at the force of the bump. Here's slow-motion video of the bump, courtesy of YouTube user ludeape. In this second version of the clip you can see both men are clearly in each other's sights for multiple paces prior to the confrontation. Sometimes symbolism is so obvious it doesn't need to be explained. This is one of those cases, but I'll explain it anyway: Two men, two different directions, one unavoidable conflict.

This article is something for drama queens to latch onto!!! This kind of stuff happens all the time. They both appear focused on something other than what is around them. Spoelstra barely acknowledged the bump and Lebron clearly attempted to apologize for it even though they are both grown men and neither moved to let the other pass. The people hating on Lebron need to get a life.

Poor LeBooooob. Probably asking what happened to that paradise in south beach d-wade promised. Just like in cleveland he will not take responsibility but blame coaches or teammates--spoelstra has no chance with this clown and his minions. Get out the grecian Riles--LeLoser needs a new daddy now that D-west is in Boston.

I notice that many of the comments posted regarding this "bump" which I would agree - clearly had some intent behind it - hit on LeBron's childish and unprofessional behaviors. The comments discuss this type of behavior and Lebrons suggested desire to be considered one of the greatest players of all times.

A couple points I want to make are this:

Firstly, in regard to this bump I believe it demonstrates 2 things. Spoelstra is WAY out of his league and Lebron is just yet another spoiled "wanna be great" - but without the stones to handle the criticism. As I said - I think Spoelstra has failed miserably thus far and shown in his awful game planning and lack of adjustments that he is simply overmatched. However, with that said - until further notice he IS the head coach and ANY player in ANY sport that makes intentional physical contact with their head coach is demonstrating that they have no clue how to be a professional, have no clue how to be a grown up and have no clue how to be a leader.

Secondly - in regard to the "greatest of all time" dream that Lebron has...I counter with this. Game 6 - 1993 NBA Finals. Final seconds - Bulls ball - and the play is called................for John Paxon - NOT Michael Jordan. What did Jordan do? He drew a double team off the ball, set a screen off the ball and celebrated like a wild man when Paxon hit nothing but net and captured the Bulls 3rd Championship. That people is how one of the greatest of all times does it. Not by "bumping" Phil Jackson in protest of not getting the ball.

Spoelstra does suck and...Lebron is a child.

I guess that none of the people with the Ghetto BS noticed that both men walked right into each other. It is funny how you forget it takes two to tango.

"Lebron is a fantastic basketball player who will become invaluable in the long run unless he matures and accepts responsiblity. He has always been a star up on his high horse."

Part of being a fantastic basketball player entails showing professionalism, Lebron James will never be as good as he wants to be revered, if he continues to show his immaturity and poor sportsman-like behavior.

This is reminiscent of James final days in Cleveland. He doesn't want to hear what the coach has to say because he is used to being the main vice in the huddle. Here we have a young coach who is supposedly going to lead the big three to glory. There is no way James would leave Cleveland for a coaching situation with less experience than the one he had here. He knew exactly what he wanted, and that is Riley on the sidelines. Don't expect any heroics from the man who quit on his team and his coaches in the playoffs last year. Chances are "happy" LeBum won't show up until Riley is on the sidelines.

For an incredible athlete like LeBron, who make a living by getting around, and by people, not to be able to avoid a staight line walking human being, is not an oops situation! He knew what he was doing, and it is immature and thuggish! Grow up and be a man. Players on this team are the reason for the failure, not the coach. The new Randy Moss??

Loser James and the Heat. I still cannot believe PAT RILEY has not come to the rescue. James is FINALLY getting all the crap that the sports outlets in Cleveland let him get away with. GO LOSER

Although I don’t know what really happened on the sideline that time but if things are pointing out to LeBron’s immaturity and his ability to make stupid decision this clearly shows it all. He really did not see this coming when he publicly bolted out of Cleveland and join the Heat only to lose. Now he is acting like a toddler who throws a tantrum when he did not get what he wants. LeBron James is really a piece of work. This really makes me think why people still buy his shoes.
