At the Buzzer: LeBron dominates, Heat win big

The sold-out house at Quicken Loans Arena wanted to be loud. They wanted to be heard. They wanted to be involved.

But the Miami Heat just wouldn't let them. Most notably, the guy they were "welcoming" back, LeBron James who finished with 38 points on 15-25 shooting, plus eight assists and five rebounds. And that was really in just about three quarters of work.

LeBron had a look in his eye from the beginning, hitting his opening jumper. He was more aggressive than we've seen this season, tying his season-high in attempts. But he had a point to prove and I think you could said it was proven. He took the best shot from the rabid Cleveland crowd and responded with his best game of the season. And his team might have notched its best win too.

Reality kind of set in mid-way through the second quarter. The Heat has extended a lead to double-digits and really appeared to be head and shoulders above the Cavs in every way. The boos got weaker and weaker, eventually almost becoming a murmur by the end of the first half as Miami took a 59-40 lead into the break.

And the lead kept growing and growing and growing, eventually topping out at 38. The Heat just overwhelmed the Cavs. It was like the Cleveland scorers couldn't breathe and even when they had a shot, they missed and missed badly. As a team, the Cavs shot just 35.5 percent. Of the starting five, J.J. Hickson and Jawad Williams were the top scorers, both putting in a measely six points. The starting five combined scored just 23 points. That's not very good.

I know some are going to get excited about this win for the Heat because of the hype surrounding the game, but let's face it - the Cavs aren't anything more than a mediocre team. And that's exactly what the Heat have been feasting on this season.

But to walk into the lion's den that was The Q and dominate, it has to be seen as a statement. The Heat were locked in on both ends and really showcased how terrifying they can be when everything is operational. Chris Bosh had a quiet 15 points, Dwyane Wade added 22, James Jones put in 18 on 5-7 shooting from 3 and of course LeBron had the 38. The team rallied around LeBron. They fought for each other and for once, really looked like a completely functional unit working together on the floor.

The Heat beating the Cavs isn't the story. LeBron's big return is. But hidden under all of the hoopla surrounding LeBron and Cleveland is that the Heat may be starting to find themselves. And ironically, maybe the Cavs kind of helped them do it.

At the Buzzer: LeBron dominates, Heat win big

I like how people overreact to EVERYTHING they do...Should anybody have been surprised when Boston bent them over a kitched counter twice? No, the Celtics came within 5 points of a World Title last year...Should anybody have freaked when Dallas, New Orleans and Orlando beat them on the road? No, Dallas and Orlando are really efficent and know how to feed off the home court and the Hornets were white hot...Should anybody be surprised that in their last three games they beat Detroit and Washington at home, and Cleveland on the road? No those teams suck and the Heat are at the very least pretty talented and the game at home against Atlanta isn't impressive either. They had a tough game at home against Atlanta and the Hawks didn't even have their best player (Joe Johnson)...

Yes Lebron you ruined your legacy, shut up and play ball

Yes Bosh you are soft, your 7-1 and don't score in the paint somehow

Yes Wade you're getting older, at least you won a ring

At the Buzzer: LeBron dominates, Heat win big

Last night's game was a preview of things to come.  Not that miami was that good...Cleveland played horrible and do not have the bench to keep up with most teams in the nba.  Furthermore, the heat have taken a closer step to greatness we must remember this is a new team and once they learn as they are now to play with eachother and continue to push the ball and play up tempo they will soon be a force to reckon with.  The up side to the heat is that they are only going to get better with each and every game.  Furthermore all the haters of the big 3 need to get over it and move on and enjoy the season because there is a myriad of talent in the nba and there is potentially 8 teams that have a ligitimate shot as contenders and also a team like orlando that could add melo and paul with howard next year may turn out to be better...only time will tell. I think we should all just sit back and enjoy this season and just watch it unfold.

Suck as usual? Are you joking? The Heat just won the championship 4 years ago you dork. Get a life bro all you lebron haters need to get over it. He just proved why he left Cleveland in the 1st place because he made them what they were not the other way around. As far as the heat go they still have a lot of work to do but they WILL get there and WILL be successful anyone who believes otherwise is either just a hater or just to stupid to realize the talent between these 3. Last night the heat pushed the ball and got easy buckets that wont just happen against the cavs it will even happen vs the celtics too. Both games vs the celtics the heat were AWFUL and Wade was even worse but you know what they were down 3 with 1:42 left in the 4th in the 1st game and they were down 4 with about 3 mins to go in the celtics game and lost by 5. Even the Dallas game they just lost where they played awful there were down 102-98 with about 3 min left. Wait till this team start playing with cohesiveness like they did last night they are going to be tough to beat. Take that to the bank!

The Heat have NOT found themselves.  They just beat Detroit and Cleveland - two very bad basketball teams.  They've already proven they can beat bad teams.  They cannot beat good teams, which is why they'll lose in the playoffs.

The NBA and LeBron had there one night.  Now go back to Miami and look at no fan support.  Miami went as far as to sell TV advertiesing to get people in the seats......The lower bowl is always half empty.....
