Interesting note in Rolling Stone's new cover story on Lil' Wayne. He sat courtside at a recent Miami Heat - New Orleans Hornets game and was rather upset that neither Dwyane Wade nor LeBron James came over and spoke to him.
Lil' Wayne said:
"Them n----s never speak to a n----a," he says. "They don't chuck me the deuce or nothing. N----a spent all that money on them f------ tickets ... Come holla at me. We sit right by them little b----a-- n----s. At least come ask me why I'm not rooting for you."First of all, I chuckled when Lil' Wayne didn't mention Chris Bosh. I'm sure the only person that doesn't find that humorous is probably Chris Bosh. Secondly, I'm reminded of the Kobe Bryant - Chris Rock thing from last season where Rock is trying to get Kobe's attention during a game and Kobe totally ignores him.
Lil' Wayne actually has a relationship with LeBron, appearing in a commercial with him and he's had LeBron on stage with him.
After LeBron joined the Heat, Lil' Wayne blogged about it, saying, "Oh LeBron! The recent move by the Miami Heat confirms that we will someday soon have that good ole basketball back ... I believe that this Miami team will be explosive as intended. Anything less than an NBA championship title will be uncivilized."
So I guess I can see why Lil' Wayne didn't appreciate the snub. But when you're in South Beach and you've got basketball on the brain, a little old rapper sitting courtside isn't a priority I suppose.
But it looks like Lil' Wayne has gone to fan to rooting against them. Just like the rest of the world.
