Kevin Garnett harshly tells off Laker ball boy

Just a couple days from possibly disrupting Channing Frye's ability to make children and a few months removed from alledgedly calling Charlie Villanueva a "cancer patient," Kevin Garnett did something new.

Nothing surprising for Garnett, but something new. After yesterday's Lakers/Celtics game, both Yahoo's Marc Spears and ESPN's J.A. Adande tweeted that when asked for his autograph, Garnett told a Lakers ball boy "you've got a better chance of catching Bin Laden."

If you're desperately trying to take offense to the comment itself, don't. There's nothing wrong with it. It was clever, really.

But this is just another example of what a jerk Garnett is. I know you're thinking, "Well, it's the Lakers and the Celtics hate the Lakers." No, it's every team. Andrew Bogut tweeted about Garnett's comment saying, "Little better than what he told one of our ball boys." And having a couple friends that are ball boys in Oklahoma City, I have heard similar stories about Garnett telling off autograph seekers in a not nice way.

I guess it says something about Garnett not caring about image in any way, shape or form. Obviously, he doesn't care what we think about him. I suppose that's admirable in some weird way. It also says he's a mean person to anyone that's not a teammate, family member or friend.

The tweets were deleted from both writers' accounts, but the reason isn't what you might it is. Both told Deadspin that the overwhelming number of retweets and responses was so big that it made their phones unusable. So they deleted the tweet since the news was already out there.

kg4lyfe you're right...it IS everyday when someone asks for a player's autograph and they make a cocky, douchey retort to the kid. Wake up buddy...he's one of the most hated players in the league for a reason. He would be #1 if it wasn't for Lebrongate.

kg4lyfe....LMAO!!!!!
That's funny you create an account and the first thing you do is defend the "douche" KG.  I guess it's in the name.  LMAO!!!!  I like the Celtics, I just can't stand KG.  When Durant made that comment about fake tough guys.  KG is one of them.

That's really stupid of you. Why the hell would you have to slap KG? He is not mandated by the nba to sign autographs for everybody, he has the right to refuse plus he has the right to free speech, this kinda incidence shouldn't even make the news. Its something that happens on a daily basis. Nothing unusual at all.

Its really about the mom..

Mom teaches super star to sign autographs or mom teaches son to not ask for an autograph.  Two sides.  I can see both sides.  Personally im not a big fan of seeking the autograph.  I would think Garnett does a lot of really great things in his, or other, communities to make this a non issue..

KG continues to show why he is the biggest d-bag in the NBA.  Bulls fan here but i like PP and Rondo but them having KG makes me hope they lose.  Time for KG to go away.  D-Bag.  Karma is a b*&ch

I do not think there was anything wrong with what Kevin Garnett did. Now if the ball boy was close to a Laker he could have asked the player to get it for him. Ball boys or girls, yes they are children still need to adhere to a professionalism of that of a person with a press pass. They are not allowed to cheer or ask for an autograph. I was a bat boy for a summer for the Cincinnati Reds, they told me to do my job on the field as players do. As in, they do not ask for autographs on the field and stay focused on what you have to do.  I tired and the series if a player asked me a personal question ( no, not like in the movie airplane ) then i would answer and converse accordingly. I would like to see a Ball boy/ girl or a line judge ask for an autograph when the tennis players are walking off the court, or a chain gain guy after a football game when the player is walking off the field. Kid is lucky to be on the court and Garnett was funny about it and not rude at all.
