Kevin Garnett harshly tells off Laker ball boy

Just a couple days from possibly disrupting Channing Frye's ability to make children and a few months removed from alledgedly calling Charlie Villanueva a "cancer patient," Kevin Garnett did something new.

Nothing surprising for Garnett, but something new. After yesterday's Lakers/Celtics game, both Yahoo's Marc Spears and ESPN's J.A. Adande tweeted that when asked for his autograph, Garnett told a Lakers ball boy "you've got a better chance of catching Bin Laden."

If you're desperately trying to take offense to the comment itself, don't. There's nothing wrong with it. It was clever, really.

But this is just another example of what a jerk Garnett is. I know you're thinking, "Well, it's the Lakers and the Celtics hate the Lakers." No, it's every team. Andrew Bogut tweeted about Garnett's comment saying, "Little better than what he told one of our ball boys." And having a couple friends that are ball boys in Oklahoma City, I have heard similar stories about Garnett telling off autograph seekers in a not nice way.

I guess it says something about Garnett not caring about image in any way, shape or form. Obviously, he doesn't care what we think about him. I suppose that's admirable in some weird way. It also says he's a mean person to anyone that's not a teammate, family member or friend.

The tweets were deleted from both writers' accounts, but the reason isn't what you might it is. Both told Deadspin that the overwhelming number of retweets and responses was so big that it made their phones unusable. So they deleted the tweet since the news was already out there.

Really.  Who the hell cares?  Another guy that if he is on your team you love him no matter what.  If he is not you hate him.

I agreed with the writer at first, and then I saw it was a Laker ball boy.  Maybe he should have been "nicer" about it, but what kind of stupid kid thinks he can get an autograph from the opposing team (and from Garnett, no less?)  It's what happens when you stick your hand in the lion's mouth, even if you are trying to be nice and feed him a steak or something.  KG is dirty no doubt, but none of us know the real context or the tone he had with the kid (who was most likely wearing a Laker jersey or something).

Stayed true to the T-Wolves: you are talking about the Celtic Kevin Garnett, right?

He didn't ask to be traded. He was traded because we couldn't afford to try and sign a bunch of guys that could help him. T'Wolves felt the need to restart and knew KG would have been retired by the time we made it back to contention.  So we traded him.  Garnett wasn't holding out, complaining or anything.  So yes, he was talking about Celtics Kevin Garnett.

Garnett is a royal jerk!!! The guy forgets that he is living a privileged life and should not be rude to anyone especially kids. He is thinking that he is untouchable and will go down as one of the all time jerks in professional sports. I am sure he would have felt good if when he was a kid he was told off by someone he admired!!! It only takes two seconds to sign an autograph and if he doesn't want to do it...there are better and nicer ways to say no. He needs a Karl Malone elbow to the face to knock some sense into him. He is a big jerk that talks the talk but can't walk the walk!!!

I can't stand the city of Boston or their fans, but god, this kind of stuff just makes me like the Celtics more and more.  I'm sure the ball boys of america are so heart broken that they cant put one more autographed ball in their toy filled rooms.  KG, way to show them you can't always have everything you want.   I'm sure if it was a kid in a tough neighborhood who wasn't getting handouts you would have signed his ball and shaken his hand.

He may be a jerk, he may not be.  I don't know the guy and nobody on here does either.

However, he stayed true to Timberwolves when almost everyone would have bolted.  He had virtually no support his whole career in Minnesota, minus the one year they made it to the conference finals.  That to me shows he has some class.
