DeMarcus Cousins was suspended by the Kings late Saturday night following a locker room incident involving Donté Greene.

DeMarcus Cousins is arguably already the league's most volatile player. Prone to fights with opponents and even his own coaches, it would seem his frustrations have now boiled over into conflict with teammates. FanHouse reports that Cousins has been suspended for at least the upcoming three-game roadtrip following a locker room altercation with Donté Greene that came to blows. Perhaps most stunning is the source of the argument. Cousins has reportedly become increasingly upset about Tyreke Evans' late game decision making and the coaching staff's reaction, culminating in Cousins yelling at Evans following the Kings' loss to the Thunder Saturday night, "from (the) tunnel to the locker room."

Cousins has already been fined by the coaching staff, kicked out of practice, and benched for a premature choking gesture. In-between he's averaging 14 points and 8 rebounds, grabbing 17% of all available boards, shooting 44% from the field (a huge blemish) and has a league-average-ish PER of 15. He's a player with tremendous upside and ability, who just wants to win. But there are ways of dealing with that kind of passion, and Cousins has expressed all the wrong ones.

The Kings have to find a structure to rebuild around, and if Cousins and Evans are incompatible, that's going to have to be established early. GM Geoff Petrie was right to act quickly and try and snuff this but furthermore, if the Kings decide Evans is the future and they can't rectify this rift, one of them will have to go. Furthermore, Paul Westphal and Petrie will have to figure out if the kid is worth the considerable headache he's providing them by continually being this much of a pain.  Good teams can't afford distractions of this magnitude, especially out of a rookie, let alone struggling squads like the Kings.

why is this a story with questions being asked as to why? or what is the situation? anyone who idnt see this happening during this guys career is a fool. he was like this in high school and college....what makes you think he'd all of a sudden be an angel now? he is a very angry, selfconcerned, egotistical person who thinks the world should revolve around him. talented...very / teamplayer...only when things go well an he gets the ball enough / worth the way. and its only gonna get worse. once he becomes an all star..and he will...things will get even more onesided and the madness will increase.

So what actually happen? What actually happen between him and Greene? What was the reason and cause for him and Greene to have this altercation? Why is he being upset with Evans got to do with Greene?

I am not defending Cousins in any way but just remember that he is very young and immature. There is no excuse for his actions but his argument about Evans is right on the money. Evans is a selfish player who needs to mature also.

Listen, you cant blame Coach Cal for this mess. What about Rose and Wall who are not having these same issues. Cousins never learned how to lose and be constructive in learning from the lost. It is hard to find a good guard let alone a potentially great guard, so I dont see the Kings getting rid of Evans. DUDE your a rookie, calm yourself down and learn how to play with Evans because he is their future not you.

He's a one and done punk who really could've benefited from having a college coach up his butt for a few years. Instead, he ends up at Coach Cal's 1 year finishing school. How seriously did he take any of the "coaching" he got there, knowing full well he was gone in the spring? Instead, the Kings use a first round pick on a guy with great "potential" on the court, who's hot headed and immature off of it.

Big question now is-is that potential worth putting up with the BS? Maybe, if he'd been in college a little longer, these issues would've surfaced, hurting his draft stock...and rightfully setting his true market value.

Just another reason to hate the one and done rule.

This is just another fine example of how cal prepares his guys for the NBA as well as the real world. this guy is a perfect example of the term "he has a short fuse".

Detiger, my point exactly. If you wouldn't lose your job you probably would have been snapped. Alot of people would have, the fact is he can snap and only be suspended.

Do you remember one game he took a great shot in and the Kings won?

How about the two wins in the last week where they beat the Lakers and Hornets. Cousin averaged 26 points 11 boards 2 steals 1 block and 1.5 To's. He sure did blow that game. He is their best player and one can easily argue he is the reason why they have won the games they have. Also he is their most consistent player. I'll take a dude with a bad attitude who plays hard over a nice guy who slacks anyday.
