It looks like the Knicks are finally stepping up to the plate. Ken Berger tweeted Friday afternoon, "A person with knowledge of trade talks tells CBSSports.com that Melo will get his wish: a legit trade proposal to ponder by the end of All-Star Weekend."

Well, it looks like that offer may actually be on the table.

Yahoo! Sports is reporting that New York has indeed made an offer to the Nuggets for Carmelo Anthony that would send Danilo Gallinari, Raymond Felton, Wilson Chandler, Eddy Curry's contract and a to-be-acquired first-rounder to Denver. Also headed to the Knicks would be Chauncey Billups and "fillers."

Newsday's Alan Hahn tweeted that a source confirms the proposed trade.

The "to be acquired first-rounder" would almost assuredly be Minnesota's for Anthony Randolph, as that has been discussed for a while. As for why Gallinari, reportedly the Nuggets had an option to pick between him and rookie Landry Fields and preferred Gallinari.

With an actual deal on the table from the team that Melo will approve, this thing could actually be headed for a conclusion. Berger tweeted, "Source on Melo's desire to reach a resolution by weekend's end: 'He'll get something.'"

Of course he signs the extension, he has been saying all season that NY is his main destination so if this deal gets done then you can expect him to put together daily MVP perfomances especially in front of the Madison Square Garden fans. New York Knicks are back babyonly bad part is this might save Mike D'antoni's job in New York.

I don't mind giving up Chandler, a 1st rounder, & Gallinari.  But there is no way the Knicks should be giving away Raymond Felton!

Felton shoots too much for a PG and has worn down as the season progressed, he is expendable.

this is a great deal Denver better accept it. Seriously guys how can you say this is bad deal for the Knicks Gallo and Chandler play the same position in which Melo averages more points than them 2 combined. Billups is an nice upgrade over Felton, he shoots better, has more experience especially in the playoffs. I think that extra player is going to be Anthony Carter which is perfect a backup to Billups. Seriously How can you say a line up of

Billups/Fields/Melo/ Amare/ Mogzov with the Bench having  Carter/TD/Walker/ Williams/ Turiaf  thats a legit starting five with a lethal shooting bench

Also if Donnie decided to do this its because he has some other trade ready to be made. I wonder if he would make a run at camby trade Azubike and his insured contract/ Turiaf and a second rounder for Camby. A lineup of Billups/Fields/Melo/ Amare/Camby would just be down right dirty and would make a title run

If i'm the Knicks, Raymond Felton would be the deal breaker for me - even if you get Billips in return.  Does this mean Melo signs the extension?

That number one pick is Anthony Randolph so they are giving away a player that doesn't play anyway. This deal works for both teams New York will get back the Super star that alot of teams wished they had and Billups who's a very heady PG and floor leader that can teach NY's young guards a thing or two like Douglas and Rautins. Plus NY gets a few players from Denver that will be FA after this season so it's a win win for both teams.

Knicks are not winning anything this year and there might be a lockout next season, Kincks aren't gonna resign Gallinari, Felton and Chandler in 2 years.
