Los Angeles Clippers forward Blake Griffin jumps over a car to throw down an alley oop pass in the NBA Slam Dunk contest. Posted by Ben Golliver.

Los Angeles Clippers forward Blake Griffin stole the show as always, throwing down an alley oop dunk as he jumped over a car to win the 2011 NBA Slam Dunk Contest during All-Star Weekend.

Here's video of Blake Griffin's jumping over the car dunk taken live at the Staples Center in Los Angeles.

Griffin received the pass from teammate Baron Davis, who was inside the car.

"To be able to be out here with these guys was a lot of fun," Griffin said, as he received his Slam Dunk contest trophy.

Griffin beat Washington Wizards big man JaVale McGee, Toronto Raptors wing DeMar DeRozan and Oklahoma City Thunder big man Serge Ibaka. Griffin dedicated the Slam Dunk contest win to a friend who recently passed away.

Blake Griffin is animal for sure but..........this was ridiculous, the only thing missing from this dunk contest was Vince McManhon and the rest of the WWE wrestling stars. Maybe next year he can jump over the Undertaker or Hulk hogan?

totally staged considering the SPONSORS were all over the car etc.  and a choir??? please.  but still a neat dunk considering someone else was feeding him the ball from inside the car and then he swings back after the dunk to land on the hood.  funny how he gets to stand on it and the guys handling the car had to wear white gloves so not to get all fingerprinty.  LOL  Cool

What a Joke! Derozen had the best dunks of the night. He gets a 45 for a dunk that is harder than griffin's second which received a 46. Ahh but wait, this is LA...ahh wait. This is the NBA. Which means the best doesn't necesarilly win. Can't have a Toronto Raptor winning anything there can we.

Was that real? Is anything real in the NBA anymore? After watching Eric Gordon trying to act out a scene from Gladiator in front of a Green Screen Friday night, I realize how fake the NBA is. The NBA is all about entertainment today, evidence by the wacky car stunt last night, instead of the GAME itself. When the "GAME" was good it skyrocketed globally. The players were mega stars as experienced by the original Dream Team and foreign countries fell in love with basketball. Now the "GAME" is secondary to the antics of the players and the light shows of the arenas which has ruined the true essence of the "GAME" that built the NBA. At least the rest of the world fell for the "GAME" and not the sideshows. Proof? Foreign players dominate the NBA now, with less talent but better fundamentals learned from watching NBA basketball when it was a "GAME"!!!
