Analysis: The Nets land a superstar after all. A few days after missing out on Nuggets forward Carmelo Anthony, the Nets acquire an All-Star, franchise point guard in Deron Williams, who is arguably a top three or five point guard in the game. Williams, who had clashed with longtime Jazz coach Jerry Sloan this season before Sloan's resignation, was said to be unhappy with the direction the organization was taking and may not have agreed to sign a contract extension to stay in small-market Salt Lake City. The Jazz get a promising big man in Derrick Favors, the No. 3 overall pick in the 2010 NBA Draft, a solid starting-calibre point guard in Devin Harris, two high-quality picks which will likely be lottery picks, and $3 million cash. The Jazz also saive nearly $2 million in salary this season. Utah is in the luxury tax so this will amount to a total savings of $4 million, barring any further trades that takes the team below the tax line.

NBA EOB Trade Deadline Tracker: Deron Williams

Nets give away first round draft picks like they are NOTHING.  The nets aren't going to contend anytime soon so those picks they give away are gonna be VALUABLE!  Utah wins this deal in a landslide.
