Fisher hit with retroactive flagrant 2 foul

In the Lakers 112-104 win over their roomates, Derek Fisher collided with Chris Kaman late in the game on a screen by Kaman. It appeared that Fisher raised his elbow a bit which made contact with Kaman's head. Naturally, the Clipper big man didn't like it.

Kaman was hit with two technicals for his reaction to the play and Fisher one. But the NBA has retroactively punished Fisher with a flagrant 2 foul as well for the play.

Normally, a flagrant 2 results in automatic ejection and a suspension. Andrew Bynum just learned about that. But Fisher won't be getting suspension. Just the big foul.

Kobe, who stuck up for Bynum and said he liked his foul didn't do that for Fisher, but instead made fun of Kaman who seemed to want to take on Fisher in the tunnel or in the parking lot after the game.

"What’s he going to do, shoot him with one of his bow and arrows? Give me a break,” Kobe told ESPN LA. “Everybody talks tough in this league. Nobody is a fighter.”

This isn't the first time the Lakers and Clippers scuffled at the end of a game. If you recall, Blake Griffin and Lamar Odom had a little pushing match after Odom didn't appreciate Griffin crashing the offensive glass with just a few seconds remaining. It's not that these two teams are real rivals, but they don't like each other for the most part. Was Fisher's elbow intentional? Probably. But I'm sure Kaman earned it at some other point in the game.

No doubt Fisher's elbow was intentional, but hey, thats combat.  Don't forget some of the liberties these big men take when setting screens, like tripping guys, stickin your hip out, then punk-ass wanna be tough guy wants to throw down with a guy he dwarfs, Way to go, Kaveman.  How dumb do you look calling out the smallest guy on the court?  Well you look like Chris Kamen, Neanderthal.  Enough said.

"But I'm sure Kaman earned it at some other point in the game"  you're sure huh?  well that makes me feel better.  Thats the problem with these websites, they let any Jobbers blog on here.  I'm a Laker fan and the statement is ludicrus.  The point of being a reporter is getting the story right, not "i'm sure he deserved the elbow"  Royce Young = wanna be hack

Same old Same old

Typical Fisher. Always has been a dirty cheap-shot throwing player and always will be.

BTW, this is a terrible replay.  If you were actually watching the game they kept showing the ground level replay.  Fisher swung his elbow around into the back of Kaman's head.  It appeared to be completely intentional, which is probably what the league saw and assessed the flagrant 2.

Yeah, I saw that replay too-I also saw the part where Kaman waqs not only moving when he set the pick but he also lowered his shoulder into Fish. Not justifying Fish's reaction, but Kaman's pick wasn't exactly clean.

I knew something happened that I didn't witness.  I have never seen the normally calm Kaman act in such a manner.  DFish acted pretty coy.  They are two players that work hard and I am sure forgiveness is in the near future.

Looked like the "shooter" was already free, he was all the way in the corner, like Fisher had a chance to contest it anyway. The Lakers prolly wont even skip a beat, they are on a roll. 3peat. Once again.

Kamen's screen looked intentional though, why did he even set that?
Huh?  Have you ever watched basketball?  Yeah, the screen was intentional.  They're legal, you know.  Why did he set it?  To get the shooter free.  That's kind of why you set screens.

With all of that said, Kaman might not want to spend time trying to look tough against a guy that much smaller than him
So, he's supposed to have an issue with someone who DOESN'T cheap-shot him?  How dumb is that?  If a small guy plays dirty, step on the midget.
