Tony Allen may be taking this "Hustle, Grit and Grind" thing a bit too far. He's a tough player and we all know that, but that doesn't mean you question others toughness or even if their injuries are real.

In fact, that's exactly what he did with Manu Ginobili's elbow injury.

"It's for the birds," Allen told the San Antonio Express-News . "Everybody is banged up. You don't see me running to my PR guy telling him about an injury."

Ginobili of course missed Game 1 entirely because of a sprained elbow and he's worn a clunky brace on it the last two. His production has suffered just a bit, most notably at the free throw line where he's only 19-27. During the regular season Ginobili shot 87 percent from the line.

When asked about Allen's accusation that he was faking it, Ginobili didn't really know how to respond. "That's his opinion," Ginobili told reporters. "I really don't care. I would love to not play with that brace. In previous years, we've had some pretty good runs without an elbow brace."

I don't really know what Allen's motive here is but calling Ginobili an injury faker seems pretty serious. Especially since Ginobili is most definitely not faking an injury. The fact he missed a crucial Game 1 kind of says it all.

In the two games he's played, Ginobili scored 17 and 23 points, but on just 10-25 combined shooting.

What I really enjoy is fans whining about how some player whines.  Missing the irony there?  Every team whines and flops.  Don't be so naieve.  And keep talking about how theres no way the Spurs come back.  Yeah - keep talking.  Its anyone's game tonight and if the Spurs win its a whole new series.
I wasn't WHINING about Tim Duncan.  So, no . . . I don't see your irony. i simply made a statement . . .  a statement that is 100% true.  And NO . . . not all teams WHINE like the SPURS.  Do all teams argue calls?  Sure they do, but not all teams WHINE like the SPURS.  TIMMY Duncan is a whiny ass b!tch.  The only people that don't seem to understand this are the Spurs fans . . . for the obvious homer reason.  By the way . . . how did Game 6 taste???  I kept talking . . .

SERIOUSLY!  Timmy Duncan is the biggest whiny ass baby in the NBA.  Everybody knows it!

Whether he is faking or not, all Allen did was p*ss off the Spurs. Not a good move to wake a sleeping giant. I am rooting for the Griz, but this was a bad move on Allen's part.

Tony Allen is a loudmouth jackass. This is the same guy, in a game in Chicago against the Bulls, kept yelling that the United Center was really his house. Did Chicago win the game? Yes. Did Rose anihilate Allen? Yes. He runs his mouth despite lacking any credibility to do so.
Exactly.  No more than bench guy who has accomplished squat.

I got a good laugh at the guy who claimed Allen the best defensive guard in the league.  Was way too predictable only a Grizzly or OSU fan would post something like that.  Thanks!

Seriously?  Doesn't Dirk still play for Dallas?  I guess he got traded, because dude has never committed a foul in his life.  I think his face is stuck in that "who me?" look of his.  And God knows Cuban has never whined about a call, right?  Homer, please.  They probably give a "whining about the refs" bonus in the Big D.  I get that ya'll have never won a championship and that would make me pissy too, but let it go.  Maybe this is your year.  Or, maybe you guys will blow a few more 20 point leads.  Either way, every team will still be whining about calls and flopping.  Sadly, as long as they get the calls they will keep doing it.  It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure that out.

SERIOUSLY!  Timmy Duncan is the biggest whiny ass baby in the NBA.  Everybody knows it!  And talk about that "who me" look . . . that is Tim's patented move.  In all of my years of watching NBA basketball . . . I have never seen somebody whine as much as him.  Every flippin' call that goes against him, Timmy the Whiner is there with that sh!t eating laughing grin as if he can't believe he got called for a foul.  So please . . . quit with the Dirk thing, dude.  You have the biggest b!tch in the league on your team and my Grizzlies are about to send their dinosaur asses home.  NO WAY the Spurs come back in this series.

Maybe Ginobili's elbow wouldn't hurt so much if he didn't flop to the ground everytime a Grizz player came toward him....i swear, he's like one of those fainting goats that keels over everytime someone looks at him hard.

The picture on this story is one of the best examples...instead of trying to go up hard to make the basket, Ginobili jumps into Allen with his back and backside to initiate the contact...then whines about his hurt elbow before heading to the free throw line.
