Miami Heat forward LeBron James compares closing out the Philadelphia 76ers to breakfast. Posted by Ben Golliver. lebron-eating

LeBron James and the Miami Heat are about to get eliminated by the Boston Celtics in the second round of the NBA Playoffs beginning next week, but that isn't stopping him from talking a little trash in advance of Game 5 against the Philadelphia 76ers.

The Palm Beach Post quotes James comparing closing out the 76ers to a morning meal
When asked about whether the three days of prep — rather than one — would make a big difference, LeBron James said tonight was about this: “Just finishing our breakfast.”
Continuing this logic, the Celtics become lunch, the Chicago Bulls serve as dinner and the NBA Finals would be Fourth Meal. James' breakfast line is heard in Jay-Z's Public Service Announcement and attributed by the Miami Herald to John Strickland, a friend of both James' and Jay-Z's.

In all seriousness, it's good to hear James so focused on the task at hand. There's nothing worse than an early round playoff series dragging out unnecessarily because the more talented team isn't totally locked in. (Loking at you, Los Angeles Lakers.) Just finish the deal so we can get to the real action.

Bottom line: the Heat should have swept the Sixers, and they know that better than anyone. In other words, tonight could get ugly. Look for the Heat to devour some scrambled Iguodala, a Brand muffin and maybe even a few Hawes cakes. OK, I'll stop. But only because you insist.

LeBron James says Sixers are 'breakfast'

Someone's a celtic homer. Lebron is just speaking the honest truth instead of the usual cliche crap we hear from almost every athlete these days. The "decision" might have been the best thing ever for us fans. It somehow turned Lebron into an evil man when it wasn't even his idea and he only agreed to do it to raise money for the boys and girls club, he did raise about $7 mil on that one by the way. Now though he knows people hate him for some reason except for heat fans and he can truly speak his mind which is honestly a breath of fresh air compared to the typical "the sixers are a team that battle so it's going to be tough, they are a scrappy team". Lebron was wrng about one thing, the sixers aren't breakfast they are TOAST and when the heat run over the celts next round thats just gonna be the jelly on top

LeBron James says Sixers are 'breakfast'

Granted, the amount of old Bulls dynasty coverage I saw was just a miniscule fraction of what local Chicagoans got to see.  But I don't recall EVER hearing or reading Jordan say anything so ungracious toward an opposing team.  Any idle speculation that LeBron James is 'the next Michael Jordan' should be effectively put to rest by now.

LeBron James says Sixers are 'breakfast'

Wow justjoe your negativity is depressing.. I have no wrong with this comment. LeBron clearly doesn't care wht anyone thinks anymore and if he is fine with that then so am I. He's just trying to get some confidence going before heading into a playoff game.. What is wrong with that? The guy is a superstar and you're making it seem like he has to say all the right things and act like he's the king of class. The guy only wants his TEAM to win, but its all MEMEME to you..

Joe, if  you don't like the NBA or basketball then why do you choose to read the articles or even post. Honestly, why waste your time on something that you hope will go away real soon. And regards to Hockey saying I or Me, it's because they don't even get interviewed. Honestly when was the last time a hockey player was interviewed after a game and it made national television? i'm sorry but your opinion on Basketball is pure wrong. A few bad apples don't ruin the whole crop.

This is why you should give a kid who has been put on a platoe all his life a voice..I love it when they say what a great business man he is, give me millions I wont f-it up . Its called education. The one thing NONe of these guys has or ever will..is class.  They all can ball sure, but ya never heard a word or this kind of crap out of Bird, magic or MJ. Kobe cries, LaBrons a child and uneducated, .  This is why I hate sports , mostly the nba.  Watch hockey, they never say I or me.  Its team.  I hope the NBA goes away for a long time..it sucks

LeBron James says Sixers are 'breakfast'

I've never seen anyone care so little about their public image.  He continues to drive fans and media further and further from him with his egotistical and arrogant behavior.  This is the reason I think he will never get that championship he craves so bad, its all about Lebron instead of his team

Hate is such a strong word.   He's a quitter.   How could anyone want to follow someone with that little heart?
