ROFLMAO!!! Are you serious? The Lakers gave away 2 games to New Orleans because the team was totally out of whack with being sick. Pau was sick, Steve Blake was sick, Matt Barnes, who knows who else was feeling bad. Chris Paul definitely played out of his mind in game 1 and game 4, but even those performances didn't get them a crushing victory. The Lakers were in both games till the end. Obviously, you did not watch the series because once the Lakers actually showed up, they absolutely killed the Hornets. Games 5 and 6 were not even close and Paul was horrible in Game 6. You sir are going to be very unhappy after the Lakers dismantle the Mavericks in 5 or 6 games. I know the regular season isn't typically a fair predictor of the playoffs, but did you see the last game between the Lakers and Mavs? The Mavs melted down completely, and the Lakers were just playing ball. They weren't even trying to be aggressive or annoying, and the Mavs wilted like a silk blouse. HAHAHAHA! I can't wait for the total and complete smack down the Lakers are gonna lay on the Mavs this series. Did you see the look on Okafor's face when Kobe fouled him? Remember that look because Dirk and the nancy boys are going to look like that all series. The Mavs had one player to worry about in the first series, and now they are going to have to deal with basically 3 7-footers. Pau can guard Dirk alone. But Chandler can't handle Bynum alone. And who is going to guard Odom on the second unit? Peja? AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!! Also, the Lakers bench outscored the New Orleans bench overall, especially in the 4 wins, and played very solid defense, except game 1. This is where your are completely underestimating the Lakers. Sure, sometimes the bench is inconsistent, but damn when they are focused and aggressive, they will shut you down. Plus, the Mavs are still a team that relies on the 3-ball. And we all know how well that works out for teams in the playoffs longterm. The Lakers are going to dominate in the paint and on the glass on both ends of the floor and the Mavs are going to be heading home with another early playoff exit. Dirk shouldn't feel bad though, some of the greatest players in history ended up without a championship. Heck, Jerry West only got 1 and that was because the Celtics' dynasty finally ended and Wilt Chamberlain came to LA. Sorry man, the Mavs are weak, and beat a team they should beat in Portland, but now they are wading in the deep-end of the pool with the big boys.

Well lets look at the whole table...we have two teams with the same records of wins and losses.. same type big men.. same our side shooting.. same interior defence and board work.. but Dallas is the Best road team in the NBA and home court is there bread and butter.. it looks to me like maybe hard earned should be spent on under-dogs.. if they can be called that ,so my Vegas cash will be on the Mav's in 6..and by the way we bet our  GREENBACKS out here not our mouths.. when crunch time comes..Kidd- Terry Marion. What the heck happened to the crystal ball in the lakers/hornets series? Do you not know how sorry that team is? What in the world have lakers fans been watching during the regular season? I am so sick of the lakers and their fans thinking they're Gods gift to basketball that I can't wait for this series. The lakers didn't give two games to the hornets, they took it. Give the Mavs the same or less effort will spell the lakers doom. The mavs in 7... I would say 6 but I would like to revisit history and would love to watch the mavs destroy the lakers in LA. Do you guys not know that your only bench player is Odom. I would say Brown too but he's just a flash in the pan guy.

I agree with the post below.  Caron Butler might make the Mavericks a better team, but not good enough to take the Lakers down.  His not being in the lineup will not be the reason the Mavericks lose this series with the Lakers.  The reason is the Lakers have substantially more talent than Dallas.  That's not to say they can't win a game in this series, they do have a great player in Dirk Nowitzki and at times Jason Kidd can make things happen.  But it's not enough for a series win against a team with the talent, length, and depth of the Lakers.  I'll bet the Mavericks end up taking one game in this series, with an outside shot of getting two.  To me, that depends on whether the Lakers pay attention from the first game in the series on.

The Mavericks are outmatched in this series with the Lakers, with or without Caron Butler.  Lamar Odom is a superstar on any other team in the NBA and a starter.  And the starters for the Lakers really have no weaknesses.  And the rest of L A's bench is a strength and an advantage as well.  I really can't see the Maverick's with a distinct advantage anywhere with the exception of Dirk Nowitzki.  Now, he is a handful as always, but clearly not enough to consistently propel the Mavericks to a series win against the Lakers.  The Butler injury simply makes this an even greater challenge for Dallas.  The Mavericks will be fortunate to get simply one game in this series, but the Lakers have been known to take a recess or two early in the playoffs.  That is the only way I could see the Mavs getting more than one game in this series with the Lakers.  I'm looking for the Lakers and Celtics to make it to the finals.

BTW, didn't they pound your Lakers this year? Keep in mind they're much better compared to when they played the Lakers.


Hey, the Cavs pounded the Lakers twice last year and we saw how that turned out.  Surely you recognize that the regular season means nothing.  The Eastern Conference is weak, weak, weak.  A bunch of no jump shot shooting teams that can barely get out of their own way.  If you want to call that beating up on each other than go ahead.  By the way, I hate LBJ so badly that I am pulling for you geriatric Celtics in this series.  However, they will never get by the Bulls.  After this season, the Celts are heading for the lottery.

Outside of Dirk, nobody on Dallas is truly a top performer night in and night out.

Miami has the best SG and SF in the league and that's nothing to take lightly. BTW, didn't they pound your Lakers this year? Keep in mind they're much better compared to when they played the Lakers.
