Boston Celtics coach Doc Rivers says Rajon Rondo and Delonte West will play in Game 4 following MRIs. Posted by Ben Golliver.

UPDATE: Rondo was given an X-ray, MRI and CT scan and all results were negative. He's being officially listed as questionable for Game 4.

During Saturday's Game 3 against the Miami Heat, Boston Celtics guards Rajon Rondo and Delonte West both went down with injury. For Rondo, it was a gruesome dislocated elbow  while West suffered a shoulder injury just before halftime.

Boston.com reports that both players underwent MRIs and that Celtics coach Doc Rivers expects both to be available to play in Monday night's Game 4, although he expressed a bit of apprehension regarding Rondo.
"Right now we're going with they're all playing," said Rivers, who was including Shaquille O'Neal. "Hopefully we'll know something by the end of our film session. Obviously (Rondo's elbow) was far more painful today, a lot of swelling."
"If he can't help our team (Rondo won't play)," the coach said. "And if he can play, how well can he play and will he help or hurt our team? No. 1, we're not going to hurt the player and we're not going to do anything to hurt the team. It may not be until game time and the game until we find that out. Right now, that may be the case. I am optimstic about both, that they're going to play."
Here's video of Rondo's gruesome injury which occurred after he got tangled up with Miami Heat guard Dwyane Wade.

If both Rondo and West are unable to go, look for the Celtics to activate reserve point guard Carlos Arroyo, who played for the Heat earlier this season.

Rondo, West expected to play Game 4 after MRIs

Watch in at 44 secs into replay above. It shows Rondo pulling on Wades hip with his left hand and yes it shows him ripping his hand away from his side. Thats what pulls Wade off balance and starts this whole delima. Not to mention the elbow in the back of Wades neck. I'm sure alot of you bias posters will say thats all clean from Bostons side.

Rondo, West expected to play Game 4 after MRIs

OMG
Acting like Rondo was the vistim here is a complete joke. He started the whole chain of events that lead to his injury.
Not trying to trash him for his b-ball skills but if you WATCH the replay in slow mo you can clearly see this all started with Rondo grabbing and pulling on wades hip with his left hand. It's clear as clear as you can get. I do realize that all of todays players grab and hold all game long but to say Wade played dirty is saying that Rondo must be a dirty player as well. Just watch the replay and look at Rondos left hand and right elbow, then tell me it was Wade that played dirty. Dont fool yourself it's all on fim.

Agreed.  Definitely looked like Wade was trying to respond to getting picked by Rondo.  Things were getting a little emotional out there.  I don't think Wade is a dirty player but I do think he intentionally tried to hold Rondo back and with a little more force than necessary.  I truly don't think he intended to harm anyone, though.  But he was probably acting out of frustration.  However....if you look back to earlier in the game when Pierce fouled Wade.  Watch Wade's hands reach out to grab Pierce and attempt to pull him down.  It's very clear and Pierce ended up with the cameramen.  Both incidents show that Wade is not immune to letting his competitiveness get the best of him.  I like Wade but he was wrong in both instances.

Wade not only grabs Rondo .. but pulls him down hard to the floor while sweeping his leg from under him.  If that isn't INTENT TO INJURE I don't know what is.  DIRTY WADE should get suspended for the rest of the series.  STERN is a joke .. he's obviously protecting his CASH COW and just like LA had his dirty refs in their back pocket last year ... this year it's the MIAMI MEAT ...  DISGUSTING

Good to see that the hallucinogens have taken hold. I mean, why take them if they're not going to work, right??

Rondo, West expected to play Game 4 after MRIs

If Wade was the one who got injured, idiot posters on here would be calling Rondo a dirty player. These players got tied up and it was nothing more than bad luck that Rondo got injured.

the rest of the playoffs and half of next season?  You guys are just trolling now, admit it.  That's the penalty Artest got for charging the stands and punching a fan.  You guys are nuts.

just lol at all the people saying Wade should be suspended.  Boston fans are just the worst.  Two guys got tangled up and Rondo landed horribly.  Bad luck happens.

Notice they did not even upgrade it to a flagrant foul.  It was a regular, run of the mill foul.

Also, the Heat shoot more free throws because they attack the rim more.  They also shot more free throws on average the WHOLE season than Boston.  It's a 6 month conspiracy obv!

Rondo, West expected to play Game 4 after MRIs

I never thought that Wade was a dirty player.......until now. Let me start by saying that I've been a Marquette fan since Al was the coach. That is more than 40 years. So I've seen all the former players. Wade always played hard, but was clean. It's apparent that sportsmanship in the NBA has gone the way of the Dodo bird. D.Stern has turned into the biggest joke in all of professional sports. This is what happens when the inmates run the asylem. It would be nice if he could grow a pair and actually have the punishment fit the crime. Wade's foul was flagrent and caused a serious injury. Therefore he should be suspended for the remainder of the playoffs and 1/2 of the next season without pay for endangering a players career.
As for Bynum and Odom, Bynum should just be kicked out of the league. He intentionally tried to hurt a player, had no remorse. In other words, acted just like the punk he's always been, when he hasn't had a boo boo. Odom's case may be a little different. He has a great reputation. It seems to me that the situation just got to him a little. That and the foul wasn't that bad. But he did intntionally foul so he has to take his medicine. I would suggest 10 games.
Until you start smacking these players hard, these fouls will continue. I just hope for the sake of the NBA, that someone doesn't get seriously hurt. Because Stern, I think, would be directly responsible for not doing anything to deter this from happening.

It was a dirty move by Wade, but I wouldn't go so far as to say he was trying to injure Rondo. Stuff happens in the heat of battle. I think Wade should be suspended for a game, but I don't think he was hoping for Rondo to get injured.
