By all appearances, Dwyane Wade and Charles Barkley are friends. I say that mainly because they do commercials together, so I may be wrong, but I doubt it.
Anyway, after the Heat's big Game 2 win, evidently Barkley and Wade had a moment of not getting along. Kelly Dwyer of Yahoo! Sports tweeted that Wade told Barkley, "I'm not talking to you right now man" and Barkley responded, "What I do this time?" Dwyer assumed they were joking, but that doesn't appear so.
Via the Miami Herald, Barkley upset Wade with some comments he made on Chicago radio this week.
TNT analyst and Basketball Hall of Famer Charles Barkley caused a stir Tuesday when he referred to the Heat as a “whiny bunch” on a Chicago radio station. Wade shot back Wednesday, referring to Barkley’s comments as “bandwagon” opinions.I'm actually not sure that's the totally correct use of "bandwagon" but I'll allow it because I know what you meant. Are the Heat whiny? Well, Chris Bosh is on the roster... but I can't really say. No more whiny to me than any other team. The Heat do play the "woe is us, the media hates us" card more than any other team though. Maybe that's what this was in reference to.
“We don’t care what people have to say about us,” Wade said. “We’re coming out to win the game. And we understand what the word bandwagon means.”
Wade continued on and said, "When I was a kid, they called me whiny all the time because I cried a lot. That’s fine. I’m done addressing what Charles has to say.”
Barkley, who is never shy about his opinions, probably isn't done saying things either. Fair trade I guess.
