Miami Heat forward LeBron James tweets that God said it's not his time to win an NBA title after losing the 2011 NBA Finals to the Dallas Mavericks. Posted by Ben Golliver.

Shortly after the Dallas Mavericks defeated the Miami Heat in the 2011 NBA Finals, Heat forward LeBron James took to Twitter to explain what happened.

"The Greater Man upstairs knows when it's my time," James tweeted. "Right now isn't the time."

James finished with 21 points, four rebounds, six assists and six turnovers in 40 minutes in Game 6, as the Mavericks closed out the Heat, 4-2.

James, 26, is now 0-for-2 in NBA Finals trips. He also lost in the 2007 NBA Finals to the San Antonio Spurs as a member of the Cleveland Cavaliers. His Finals averages: 17.8 points, 7.2 rebounds and 6.8 assists. For the postseason, James averaged 23.8 points, 8.6 rebounds and 5.9 assists.

This loss will largely be pinned on his shoulders. The Heat entered the Finals as heavy favorites, with three of the best four players in the series in James, Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh. Nevertheless, Mavericks forward Dirk Nowitzki and a solid supporting cast that included Jason Terry, Shawn Marion and Jason Kidd pulled off the upset in stunning fashion, closing out the series in American Airlines Arena, Miami's homecourt.

This is really funny... How different is what Lebron said from what millions of (disillusioned) Christians, or indeed anyone of strong religious faith, say every single day.  I didn't get a job offer, oh, I guess god has different plans for me.  I DID get a job offer -- bless the good lord for taking care of me.  The thousands of comments are correct, god doesn't care about one person winning a championship or not... because there is no god in that sense.  What I find funny is that I'd be willing to bet my next paycheck that many of these comments come from people who attend church and consider themselves strong Christians and who pray to god for health and wellbeing and peace and a new job and etc.  What's the difference?  What's the difference between Lebron saying god didn't want him to win and Jason Terry saying god DID want him to win:    Ridiculous.  Now, if all of these comments are from athiests I apologize, but I doubt that; more likely the majority of the posters are simply hypocrites blinded by their illogical hate for Lebron James.

Maybe the Greater Man Upstairs thought your time was with the Cavaliers against Boston. But you QUIT on your teammates and the City of Cleveland by tanking game 5 and 6 and then running out of Cleveland as fast as you could to become Dwyane Wade's sidekick in South Beach.  Did you ever think bout that, Prince James? Last time I checked the King was The Man, not a sidekick. You are not The Man in South Beach, that title will always belong to Wade and that team will always be Wade's team.  You are just a member of the supporting cast, and one who can't finish in the 4th quarter at that. Like Scottie Pippen refusing to go into the game against the Knicks because Tony Kukoc was getting the last shot, LeBron should never be able to live down the fact he QUIT against the Celtics in game 5 of a 2-2 series to go to the championship.  Then Prince James, who promised a championship to his championship-starved hometown Cleveland fans, quit on the entire city of Cleveland.
The Prince James motto: "If at first you don't succeed, quit and join Dwyane Wade's team and don't succeed with him, either."

He can "take his talents to South Beach". But he won't win them a championship.

And I guess Dirk gets to answer all the criticism from Wade and LeBron with the ultimate response: SCOREBOARD!!!

Anybody else think Bosh will want out of Miami?  Going from alpha dog to 3rd fiddle in the NBA must've been hard this year.  I wonder if he'll demand a trade, even in spite of his "friends."
