Miami Heat forward LeBron James tweets that God said it's not his time to win an NBA title after losing the 2011 NBA Finals to the Dallas Mavericks. Posted by Ben Golliver.

Shortly after the Dallas Mavericks defeated the Miami Heat in the 2011 NBA Finals, Heat forward LeBron James took to Twitter to explain what happened.

"The Greater Man upstairs knows when it's my time," James tweeted. "Right now isn't the time."

James finished with 21 points, four rebounds, six assists and six turnovers in 40 minutes in Game 6, as the Mavericks closed out the Heat, 4-2.

James, 26, is now 0-for-2 in NBA Finals trips. He also lost in the 2007 NBA Finals to the San Antonio Spurs as a member of the Cleveland Cavaliers. His Finals averages: 17.8 points, 7.2 rebounds and 6.8 assists. For the postseason, James averaged 23.8 points, 8.6 rebounds and 5.9 assists.

This loss will largely be pinned on his shoulders. The Heat entered the Finals as heavy favorites, with three of the best four players in the series in James, Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh. Nevertheless, Mavericks forward Dirk Nowitzki and a solid supporting cast that included Jason Terry, Shawn Marion and Jason Kidd pulled off the upset in stunning fashion, closing out the series in American Airlines Arena, Miami's homecourt.

Who cares what that moron has to say?!  F*** his tweets!  The Mavs won, and won with class, and we're still talking about that classless idiot?! (minus Stephenson...)

I hate LeBum more and more every minute.

Congrats to Dirk, J-Kidd, and the rest of the Mavericks on a well-deserved Championship!  Can you imagine how they'll be next year with Caron Butler back?

About time somebody cracks back on that absentee father "upstairs." I only hear about him backing winners. I was starting to think he was just a front-running d-bag.

Blaming God now, are we? Bum! He also says it's not "my" time. What about "our" time? Team play. He'll always be a knucklehead. Trade Lebron for Dwight.

And what if the Greater Man upstairs decides it's never your time, LeBron?

The guy's got the physical talent in spades, but he needs to get it together upstairs.  Tone down the ego, stop assuming things will be handed to you just because you're "the King," learn when to make a scene and when to just keep your mouth shut, and work on team chemistry and improving the holes in your game: preferably out of the spotlight.  In a way it's not his fault, since he's been hyped since he was a kid (I'd have trouble staying humble if everyone kept telling me I was the greatest thing ever for that many years), but I think his ego and attitude are severely holding him back at this point.  There's a fine line between the self-confident swagger all legendary athletes have and overconfidence that leads to a fall:  LeBron's on the latter, I suspect, based on how, as in this series, he withers when the pressure is at it's peak.

another classic example of a religious person deflecting all blame and responsiblity to an imaginary character. Why have a real reason when you can just say "God has a plan for everything?"

Say Miami in the NBA finals next year and doesn't win it all.
Will God still say it's not LBJ's time - again?

Did Dallas win the team game or did Miami lose it?

IMO it is the ladder...should have been a 4 game sweep for Miami.
The odds makers had Miami all the way!

Where did the miami fans go.  Truth is- God doesnt care about sports , who wins or who loses.  There are no shortcuts in life, and with the owners wanting a new agreement with the players union... Big 3 will be dismantled :)

Sorry James- you will never win a title, and your team will get worse next year.  GOO MAVS, you finished what the bulls couldnt.  And Dirk you got your revenge on Wade, closing out like LeChoke couldnt
