DeShawn's shirt: 'LeBron, How's my Dirk taste?'

DeShawn Stevenson wears a shirt that says, "Hey LeBron! How's my dirk taste?" Posted by Ben Golliver. stevenson-shirt-small

After poking and prodding Miami Heat forward LeBron James throughout the 2011 NBA Finals, Dallas Mavericks guard DeShawn Stevenson got in one final shot following Dallas' NBA title.

The Mavericks closed out the series on Sunday night with a 105-95 win in Game 6 before taking to South Beach club LIV to celebrate with the Larry O'Brien trophy.

On Monday, the Mavericks flew home to Dallas, where Stevenson was spotted wearing a Mavericks blue and white t-shirt with lettering that read: "Hey LeBron! How's my Dirk taste?"

That slogan is an obvious reference to a Shaquille O'Neal freestyle rap. O'Neal used the line, "Hey Kobe, tell me how my a** taste" to mock his former teammate with the Los Angeles Lakers, Kobe Bryant.

To add a play on teammate Dirk Nowitzki's name here is incredibly inspired work from Stevenson, who may well have created a legacy for himself as "The Guy Who Got Into LeBron's Head Completely" in these 2011 NBA Finals.

The most underrated part of this shirt is that it bears the sponsorship of HDNet, Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban's television station. It's almost like Cuban is personally endorsing the joke.

Stevenson is a textbook hater. This is not a compliment.

He should be ecstatic that he won a ring. Instead he continues to take this into personal levels it doesn't need to go.

Dirk was the man in the Finals. Stevenson was a bit player and stuff like this shows it.

Do the talking on the court, not off. This is EXACTLY what people are ROASTING LeBron for but it's ok for this @ss clown to do it. Ridiculous.

He has one thing over LeBron. Granted, it is a BIG BIG BIG (can't say big enough) thing. But the day Stevenson actually leads a team to win anything is the day he quit the NBA and joined an intramural rec league.

In other words, this is a jester making fun of a prince. Can't call LeBron 'King' right now. He is not.

You couldn't anymore incorrect  with you "blimp comment" or blip comment (no M). This series will be remembered for a very looooooooong time in light of the circus act you're beloved Heat made out of the NBA. This is a series that people will talk about more than Bill Buckner and the '86 Sox, Scott Norwood and the '90 Bills, Webbers no time outs left, Escobars own goal (which subsequently cost him more than just the game), Romo bobbling the snap in '07, the Stanford Band on the field, "The Decision"

As much as I like good sportsmanship in sports, and that is 99.9 % of the time, this is only fitting. I like D. Wade, Bosh is ok, but the stage that Lebron set for himself after leaving Cleveland and the egomaniac show, rubbing this loss in is in order. Wade has class, but was brought down to the egomaniac level of Lebron. SO RUB IT IN DALLAS AND CUBAN. I hope Lebron never wins a championship.

I think that it's going to James' and The Heats level, but at the same time, I thinks it's funny. James and Wade brought this on themselves by assuming they are were going to win a championship in July, disregarding and disrespecting the other teams and players in the NBA. The league (The players) have a every right to lash back a little, to let them know that championships are not simply given away, but earned.

This is a prime example of what's wrong with sports and it sends a message to our youth. Sports used to be a contest, that when it was over, the winner congratulated the loser and went on. The trash talking, crotch grabbing, chest bumping that exists now is seen at the high school level and lower. It is so bad that the parents condone it. Lebron has a lot to learn. If he truly wants to be better than Jordan, he should study how Jordan conducted himself after the event was over. Stevenson will not even be in the league in 4 years.

Deshawn calling people classless???  Look in the mirror dude.  I'm a Heat fan and am disappointed THE HEAT lost.  Not Lebron.  I think it's crazy how Lebron is the story today.  And it's not really Lebron making it about Lebron.  It's thousands of others, including the media and Stephenson.  People wonder why Lebron is the way he is - Lebron is to blame for much of it, but the media needs to either acknowledge their influence or let it die.  So hypocritical.  Why Stephenson cares about Lebron today is mind-boggling.  The Mavs were the better team.  Let's just congratulate them for being the champs.  Lebron is 26 and has said and done stupid things.  I think we have all said and done stupid things when we were 26.  Not making excuses for him, but it's not like the guy is OJ Simpson, Plaxico Burress, or Jim Tressel.
From Canes 1.

Very well said. I couldn't agree more. Lebron is obviously just an immature 26 year old. I'm not a fan of his, but the man is cocky because of the worshipping people have given him all the way back to highschool. It's hard not to put yourself on a pedestal when you're treated that way.
