The Wolves finally did it. They managed to get rid of Jonny Flynn. After months and months of discussion, the unhappy marriage that began in 2009 ends as Ricky Rubio finally dons a Wolves uniform and the other point guard selected is shipped off.

Ken Berger of CBSSports.com reports:
The Rockets-Wolves deal: JFlynn and No. 20 Montiejunas to Houston for Brad Miller, No. 23 Mirotic and future 1st, sources confirm.
So. Just to review. The Wolves try and move the No.2 for a month. Can't do it. Take Derrick Williams when they have Michael Beasley and Anthony Randolph. Have another top twenty pick when they need talent. And then trade it for another Euro center that likely won't come over, Brad Miller who is nearing the end of his career despite having several years left on contract, and a future 1st. Maybe the 1st will be good.

Meanwhile, the Rockets have acquired a point guard no one wanted, who they are now reportedly trying to trade, when the have both Kyle Lowry and Goran Dragic. And they surrendered a future first rounder just to get rid of Brad Miller who was a mistake to sign last summer, and Montiejunas.

The Rockets struggled defensively last season without Yao Ming and desperately need a center to bring toughness. So naturally they've traded for Motiejunas whose biggest questions were toughness and effort. It's not that Motiejunas lacks upside, he's got great range and scoring ability. But his questions defensively more than outweigh the good elements, which is why he plummeted out of the lottery and all the way to No.20. But the Rockets needed a center, and they got one.

Winner: We'll give it to the Rockets, only because they managed to take in less money and Motiejunas might surprise. It's neck and neck though.

Loser: Let's say it's the Wolves. Mirotic might be great and the future first is nice, but they have Milicic and Pekovic, and now Miller and his money. An odd trade all around.

I dont think so. This team is so young already. Not a single player over 22 and were getting younger in this draft. Miller isnt any good. But niether is Flynn. We just needed to dump him. If anything Miller helps the young players on this team. And escpecially with a new head coach again. He will be welcome to this team. Flynn is junk.

Only a trolling idiot would blame "fans" for a team's picks.  Yeah, all fans get to discuss these picks with the GM prior to the draft, didn't you guys know that?  Me and Kahn had some beers last week.  What a swell guy.  He said, "if you want Williams, that is our pick".

With the way Beasley gets hurt all the time, it is nice to have some decent backups! Brad Miller was a mistake. Rubio and Derrick Williams should be Good for the Wolves. It would still have been nice to have gotten another Name on the team.

That response rules.  Isn't it fun to just slap down an idiot using his own words?

Well done.

The Timberwolves and there fans are the laughing stack of the NBA once again. The Wolves and there fans just don't know anything about basketball.

So says Stevephoenix, whom I would believe, were it not for his multiple misspellings in a single sentence. Calling us laughing stack (which we are.. er stock) while you cannot properly spell rings of irony. There is a place. Their is a possessive.

Normally I would let that go, but when you ridicule someone for being stupid, please do yourself a favor and pick easier words. Like: You stupid, not me.

Geting Rubio and Williams is the best thing that has happened to this sorry franchise since Garnett came aboard.

The Wolves are the "terrible" team, and the only lottery pick they'll have will be their own.  Moore is right though, did either team improve themselves with this trade?

Since this isn't addressed, not even in the original post by Matt Moore, lets look at what really happened.  Timberwolves trade Jonny Flynn and pick 20 for:

Brad Miller, 2 future 1st round draft picks, Malcolm Lee (43rd pick), and straight cash homey.  Now how do you feel?  Because I feel pretty good about it.

Brad Miller?  Now there's a guy to build around.....He'd probably outrun my late beloved grandma & be tied with Ilgauskas as the slowest guys in the NBA, including coaches.....I wonder if Derrick Williams is as good as umm Derrick Williams...I was having trouble sleeping tonite so I watched the draft....I slept like a baby except for the nightmare I had of shaking hands with David Stern & then turning into him & never getting laid again...
